Default OBD II Not Working

I tried to get my car (2007 GT3) smogged yesterday and the garage I visited wasn't able to connect to my OBD II port. When I got home I tried two wireless bluetooth dongles and neither worked, although I could see that they were getting power through their on board LEDs.

I recently had my car in a shop for seat work and alignment and they were able to connect to the car. The only thing that's happened since then was me replacing the battery since it wasn't holding charge anymore (it also happened to die at the shop).

I have both an Aim Solo DL and TPC DSC wired into the can bus, but I doubt its related to either since both were installed prior to visiting the shop. I've hooked up my Aim Solo and still get full readout of RPM, temps, speed etc, and the TPC device looks to be working correctly.

The car runs normal and there's no CELs, so I don't think its an ECU issue per se. Normally I wouldn't care about this, but I need to get my car smogged before the end of the month since I still occasionally drive on the street.

Anyone ever experienced this before? Any ideas?

Yup, did a recent swap since the old battery wasn't holding charge. With that said, I've had the battery disconnected in the past for extended periods of time and never had this issue.

I'll be heading over shortly.

I'd do a full drive cycle - we can take a look

Just to be clear for anyone that reads this - the issue is not passing a smog test, I can't get the OBD II port to work. I also just tried a durametric cable and couldn't get it to initialize. The blue light comes for approx. 2 seconds and turns on. I tested on my cayenne and the cable works.

Can someone please post a picture of their OBD II port? I want to make sure that all my connectors look right.

The reason for the glue is that a local dealer a couple months back broke the connector and glued it back...this could be related, however I've used the port lots of times since then so unlikely.

^ u were ok with this after dealer said they broke it and told u they glued it as a repair? Neway they shoulda done back what was oem and not entertain the fact that coulda screwed up your obd2 port. I don't like to blame anyone but darn that's wrong with the glueing whether dealer or indie if they broke it. Mike

It was a local dealer that broke / glued it back. They've done a lot of favors for me in the past. With that said, I wasn't ecstatic that they glued it but didn't realize how sloppy it looked until now. I don't think this is related however as this happened a while ago, and I've used the port multiple times since.

That's a valid point. The cables didn't break though, it was the surround that the port clips into. The service tech showed me the part that broke off.

I plan to reach out to the dealer soon if I can't get this figured out.

On the 993 the obd goes inactive if you haven't connected a reader to it within 2 minutes of unlocking. Maybe something similar?

Wish that was the case. Unfortunately I've tested in multiple scenarios and just can't get anything to read it.

I have DSC, 3-axis acceleromter, and Aim Solo DL. My OBD2 port is fully functional with generic scanner and durametric. I suggest checking the power and ground on the port. Power is pin #16. Ground is pin #4.
