Default Shortening a Race Ramp

Just curious, has anyone ever cut a Race Ramp?

I have the TR5 version which is about 1 or 2 inches too long for my 5'5" truck bed. I don't want to put them in at an angle because it cuts into my ability to have 2 sets of tires in there. I really don't want to go to the next size down either.

I know this is going to get a big 'duh' with this but I'll 'fess up and say I called RR and they don't recommend it. But I wondering if that's a product liability answer or not.

Rich is a straight shooter - if he says not to cut it I wouldn't

Thanks. didn't speak to Rich but I'm sure you're right. Maybe I'll just 'squish' it a bit.

Oh, BTW, I already know I can fix it by buying an F350 duallie and 24' enclosed trailer!

I thought I'd mention that before someone else does!

No structural reason not to cut it. Save the cut-off and shove it next to the rest when loading/unloading.

I literally need to only shorten it by a couple inches. That removed piece wouldn't affect the loading in any way since it's well down from the front spoiler and still easy enough to climb up the slightly higher initial approach.

Don't think it be an issue cutting it just ductape the exposed area. Mike

There were warnings on my ramps that explicitly said not to modify the ramp. I wouldn't do it...but that's just me.

If you don't need the full 5.5" height, I have a set of TR4s we could swap.

I need the 5.5" height just not the 5'6" length.

I had race ramps build a set of ramps to my specifications so it could fit in my Cayenne. It take them about 2 weeks to do it and it's about $100 more than the normal "stock" sizes.

If you decide to cut the , do let us know why they said not to cut them. Maybe they are jelly filled or something

They have styrofoam on the inside. I use them for my lift and brought the lift down on one once. It looks like it's the rhino liner bed liner sprayed onto styrofoam...

And I thought it was high density flexi foam. Styrofoam? Damn. If that's the case do not cut. Mike

Why do they need to go in your truck bed? I slide mine under the back of the car on the trailer and use a couple of crossed one inch ratchet straps to hold them down.
