Btw, on the 6speed link one of them is silver on the inside of the door.

Also, on the pic MJSpeed posted you can see the 997.2 GT3 RS style steel (or aluminum?) side brackets for the wing on the inside. They will not be solid like in the spy pics, it's just camo.

I'm at Francisco and Broderick. Just a few blocks away. I don't think I've seen your car around. We'll have to meet.

The story I'm hearing is that there will be 600 RS' produced and the buyers of the 918 have first dibs....and I think there were 918 buyers. What are you guys hearing from your sources.

Crap.

That doesn't sound good.

Even if only half of the 918 owners take them up on it, expect half to stay in Europe/ROW that's a lot of 991 3 owners keepers. Hmmm.

That's an old story. Don't trust anything until it's out.

Also, Porsche isn't stupid. They won't alienate their non-918 Spyder owners by making it so no one can get one. There are a lot more Porsche buyers than 918 buyers, and those are the ones that make PAG rich.

Also, buyers of 918 Spyder's are part of the VIP program which gets you any allocation you want. 1 per model. Must buy from the original dealership you got the 918 at. So that part is true.

Furthermore, since they're stopping GT3 production in favor of the GT3 RS, it's silly for them to limit it to 600. PAG likes making money.

Info was from Porsche dealers meeting last week. Don't know about the 'old' rumors. I was just seeing if anyone else had heard from their dealership. It would be great for those who want to drive them, if they produce a lot more than 600. I guess we will know eventually, it has been a long wait.

But, as we've learned from Rennlist time and time again, since when do dealers actually know what they're talking about before something is actually announced?

I'd say, 1% actually know what they're talking about (granted one or two of them are Rennlist sponsors, and they aren't tellin'!).

I got an email from my dealer saying they had just been to a Porsche Conference and that it was confirmed that they would not be seeing the car until second half of 2015 due to the GT3 delay.

918 owners have first right of refusal; yes.
Limit of 600 for a "regular" RS; doubtful.
