Default Fabspeed Side Muffler Delete Install

Hi Gang,

Looking to install the side muffler delete kit this weekend or next. A quick look indicates I can do this without removing the rear bumper cover.

Any tips by someone who has done this?

Thanks,
Tom

I had to remove the bumper cover. Heat shields were in the way and I couldn't get enough leverage to loosen the nuts/bolts for the side mufflers.

Removing the rear bumper and heat shields will make the job easier for sure. It's not too much work to take the rear bumper and heat shields off.

Take the bumper off Tom. It's not that hard to do, and it saves time on trying to get stuff fitted up right because you can see what your doing.

As all have said, remove bumper and heat shields. Good oportunity to give the back end a good clean!

Here's a tutorial on how to remove the bumper, with good pictures. It's for a regular 997 but the GT3 setup is very similar. The process easier than you might think if you are semi-handy with tools.

I took off my rear bumper for the first time and took maybe 20 min. I took off the rear wheels as well. Not sure how you could get the heat shields off with the bumper cover on.
