GT2RS - GT3RS

GT2RS - GT3RS
So, last week was the 997.2RS v 991 GT3, this week GT2RS took on 3RS. Both cars went for drive through the mountains in Hatta.
To be fair to the 2RS the front tyres were shot and car had not been set up yet. So no way was the car pushed; plus the new owner had only had it for two days.
The power of the 2RS - when in the right gear and flooring it - is just stupid - it goes through the rev range so quick it's like you're on the star ship enterprise going into warp drive and so you have to change gear often; the lower red line does not help. The interesting thing for me, when driving the 2RS and following the 3RS was how the 3RS held its own and instantly grunts away with the 2RS surprisingly taking its time to catch up.
The 2RS had ceramic brakes whereas mine has steel with steel lines and the steel had better feel; with the ceramics you knew you would stop but did not offer much feed back.
My 3RS has been set up so well now that its just a complete joy to drive now - it's like the ultimate beautiful woman who never gives you grief and is just there at your side and enjoying your company (ha ha). The balance of my car is perfect now; the 2RS felt a bit out of sorts so will be interesting to drive it again with new shoes, geometry and corner balance - reckon it will be pretty awesome and handle like my 3RS.
The 3RS though, due to its non turbo character and sound wins. The colour makes it special too.

What a pair! It's too hard to decide which one I like more. Both are incredible in their own ways

^ what a dilemma eh! I am keen to drive the 2RS again after its been re-shoed and set up but the 3RS engine - sound and performance - add to that overall experience thrill.
In the last month i've driven 458 Speciale, 991GT3 and now the 2RS and the 3RS beats all of them - I have been fortunate indeed to drive all these cars and even more fortunate to realise the car I have is VERY special indeed!

Ummm... Don't want to burst anyone's bubble but I think your friends car may actually be a .1 GT2 converted into a .2 RS clone. Take a look at the mirrors, they're from a .1. Which seems very odd for a .2 RS...
You guys should make sure he didn't get screwed over.

OP: Tell the owner to get an aftermarket exhaust. I went with AWE, completely opens the car up. You get all the sounds and rawness. If you can get a tune, it will change the power delivery completely. The only thing I miss about my 3.8RS is the attention it got, the 2RS is less noticed on the street but everything else about it is better.
In stock form though I definitely agree with your write up, it's definitely way too quiet and it almost seems like Porsche engineered the lag to make the car more dramatic to drive...
