Default Shaved RA1 rears - how many cycles/days Roughly are you getting?

Just trying to estimate, I'm slow so pretty easy on tires, but wondering what you faster guys are getting on these ancient trakcar tires :-) Which are perfect with the nt01 drought. The non-shaved rears lasted me quite a while.

Are you running full tread in the dry?

Don't u shave them to get faster times? Sounds like more tread on tire would last longer. Mike

The RA1s wear out from heat cycles, not tread depth. With a full tread tire you end up generating a lot more heat too. At least on the Miata I'd run a set of full tread RA1s in the rain, and shaved in the dry.

Well I now know what heat cycled tires feel like. WOW. I had quite a few cycles on a set of UNSHAVED RA1 so they had a lot of tread depth, and still have some now.

Was at chuckwalla all weekend and tires were at 3/32. it was hot, about 100. Car was great first day, with me beating personal best by almost 2 seconds (I'm slow still, big jumps!). Day 2, first run was good, second run and 3rd, i felt like chris harris trying to control car, and I'm not that good yet... so slowed it way down and practiced car control. TC light didn't turn on all event, and now it's flashing every corner on apex acceleration... so they're toast.

Anyway, they went off fast. Good, then not good.

Rest of my RA1 are shaved, so they'll be corded way faster than this set.

search is your friend. lots of discussion here a few years ago.
I can't remember how many hc I used to get get but it was a lot. More than 20 on rear more than 30 on fronts.
and no they do not heat cycle out. run them til they cord.
