Yes, sharkwerks says several, it's getting to the point now that they are getting old enough as well.

Yes. One happened in front of me at the Ridge. Luckily it didn't dump everything out at once.

Driver controlled it very well. The track workers however did not notice. They didn't notice my honking & waving either.

I wish I'd known how serious this was. My .1 blew on my way back from a track day at Blackhawk Farms, last May and left me on the side of the road. Thank god it didn't blow on the track. Putting myself at risk is one thing, putting others at risk...why?

I thought coolant hose was overblown internet hype until I saw one blow earlier this season on a 997.1. Luckily no one behind him at the time and relatively slow leak. Driver of car spun but didn't hit anything. I immediate got my coolant replaced with water wetter. Changing coolant to water wetter is cheap insurance for you and your buddies.

Is ridiculous that Porsche haven't owned up to this.

Was it a 996 or 997 that actually dropped the coolant?

Mine blew at the the Nurburgring last Thursday (996MKII), luckily coming into Dottinger Hohe so on a straight and off line, no-one behind. Still to find out which hose but it's top front of engine somewhere, car sat at Manthey waiting for repair. Hot day and foot to floor out of Galgenkopf, could have bee so much worse.

Going to be telling everyone to fix those f@#king pipes...

Hi CRex

Glad you're ok. I agree if you're going to the track often this is a must do.

Additionally it would be beneficial for driver's briefings at track days to inform and stress that getting off the racing line asap is vital to ensuring everyone's safety, not that it would have helped you directly but you mention the driver carelessly running the next four corners and ruining everyone's time available.

Crex - glad you were ok. Friend of mine was in the orange Mclaren and very nearly came to grief out of pouhon. His friend in the E46 unfortunately wasn't so lucky... bloody poor as well the guy kept on slopping coolant around the track after.
