Which headers do you guys think are better: Akrapovic or Sharkwerks/EVOMS?
Dear all,
I have both of these headers in hand. I used to run Akrapovic Evolution Race. Then I ordered the Sharkwerks/Evoms Club Sport headers. Obviously one thing is the Akra comes with a 100 cell cat while the Sharkwerks came with a 200 cell cat (test pipes can be ordered).
I now run Sharky headers, oem side mufflers, Sharky bypass.
But I can't figure which to keep.... Give me a hand!

If each of them both have their advantages, what are the respective advantages?
I am not familiar with exhausts and would like to know what are the pros and cons of each design of the two.... Thanks!!!

From pictures - advantage to sharkwerks due to hot swap cats or not.
As for sound and power I don't know.
The akro is stainless as well or a different metal ? If titanium - they will be lighter but titanium is prone to cracking easier.

any torque loss with these aftermarket headers combined with a bypass? What kind of gains? Or is the primary benefit increased throttle response?

1. Performance difference
2. Exhaust note
Go to a dyno with your best wrench and on the same day put them on and take them off to do back to back dyno pulls with each system.
Then consider your liking of exhaust sound.
Personally I've never cared for the Akrap bling.
Do not know anything really about EVOMS headers. Maybe it's been posted but haven't seen any performance results. They look very well made.
IMHO, I swear by M&M. I love my 55 mm primaries / 90 mm collectors.
Enjoy, sounds like you're in a fun position.

What Ranger said...
Headers are about making more power than the stock pcs. If you don't know the power difference, then you're really only going by looks and sound. Ti is lighter, but does crack under track usage, Likely the sharkwerks headers have an EVOMS tune to match, so that might be a benefit, if there is appreciable power gains.
RK and Charles Dundon will soon be bringing headers/muffler combo to market that have more power across the rev range and a total of 20-25whp gain for a 3.6L. They're the headers on PJS car now...
Good luck, you're in an enviable position!

thanks fellas I hate my headers... well not really but I think having them v-banded is good for future-proofing since even the stock ones fail on the track

Keep the Sharkwerks, as there is a tune for it as well as the cats can be swapped out.
I posted a thread on my Sharkwerks/evoMS headers and setup:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...s-unicorn.html
For those that dont want to go there, here is the dyno. As you can see power and tq across the whole range. Alex has driven my car and can tell you what he thinks of this little 3.6L

Yes. And Todd tuned this for area under the curve vs peak numbers. The improvement can def be felt. Even when just stepping on it to pass someone on the highway and not gearing down.

Thanks for the info.
I am having akra side muffler delete pipes on order now. When they arrive, I will swap to sharkwerks headers/cats + akrapovic sports cup (side deletes + muffler). Will also look into a tune...
