Default GT3 ownership, day 2

Ok, day 2 of GT3 (2007MY) ownership, a few impressions.

1) wow, this is not my C2S
2) better stance, better suspension I guess
3) brakes (mine are steel) are WAY, WAY better
4) +60hp - like Colt 45, works every time
5) shifter - much shorter throw, and WAY "notchy-er" (perhaps previous owner put on a SSK, was not documented....comments please?)
6) exhaust note is sick, this sounds like an angry car (which has me giddy and intoxicated....cannot get enough of it)
7) arctic silver color, meh....though far more understated than the Mexico Blue C2S. I just don't care for the color but this car is about far more than color
8) clutch, sure it's a bit more brutal but not a big deal at all

Congrats. Shifters are notchy ESP when engine cold. Caress the shifter from 2 to3 rd. No rushing the stock mechanism. My buddy says my shifter is easier than his prev gt3. Same 07 model year. His new (to him) 2007 gt3 is more like mine (less notchy). Perhaps less hard track use.

Got a front plate because of California ?

You can wrap your car a flashy color to distinguish it from all us Arctic Silvers.

Congrats on the new purchase! We should meet up sometime in the Marina (I think you said a while back that you live there too?). You can try out my numeric racing shifter - also notchy on start (think that's more about the tranny being cold) but feels like a bolt action.

Congrats congrats on the new Purchase. I've driven by your place (I think) cuz I saw the big blue before, beautiful! I just moved to Marina/Cow Hollow few months back.

We should meet up!

If shifter was modified by last owner, chances are he upgrade to the 996 Cup shifter cable.

The GT3 is a modern hotrod porsche.

The notchy shifter is really the worst part of the GT3.

Funny. I like the notch shifter. I'm also a big fan of my arctic silver gt3. I think the less flashy color offsets the aggressive look while on the street.

David, Congratulations on the GT3. I still remember seeing your Mexico Blue C2S at Napleton when I picked up my 09 C2S. Nice pair of cars to have in the garage.

With my work, it just isn't practical to keep 2 cars.....I only get to drive about 4K miles per year.

Blue baby's gotta go at some point. Perhaps to my mom's, where I can drive it when I visit her (vs a rental)

sounds like a plan; or

sell it to a buddy who lives near your mom and "rent" it when you visit her and get first rights of refusal if he/she wants to sell it in the future.

just thinking out loud here.

I also just got my gt3 and had it only a few weeks. It's an 07 white car. I like the non rs because the cars are aggressive without being flashy.

I am also very impressed with the car. I love the shifter. It's perfect bolt action. The car is manic. I love that too.

My only considerations are around the suspension. Stiff is overly stiff. Normal is comfy but not quite stiff enough. I will drive more, then align. Then play with settings.

I love the car. I really do.

Had my GT3 for about a year and a half and absolutely love it. Just went for an hour and a half drive with the wife. Country side was beautiful. She's finally starting to warm up to it, but it took a while
