Congrats! The stock GT shifters are considerably shorter than Carreras or TT's. There's about 3 inches of travel between 3rd and 4th gear off the top of my head, as opposed to 4+ in the non-GT cars I've driven. If it's below that you may have an aftermarket SST in there. All about your personal preference really.

Enjoy driving!!

I just don't care for the color but this car is about far more than color 8) clutch, sure it's a bit more brutal but not a big deal at all
The shifter does seem at odds with a car that is so balanced in almost every other area.

This is a woman who used to drive my old C2 1-2x/ week. Needless to say she was pretty upset when I bought it. She couldn't understand why I'd pay more $ for a stiffer, louder version of the "same car" that regularly scrapes the ground.

I am also very impressed with the car. I love the shifter. It's perfect bolt action. The car is manic. I love that too.

My only considerations are around the suspension. Stiff is overly stiff. Normal is comfy but not quite stiff enough. I will drive more, then align. Then play with settings.

I love the car. I really do.
Couldn't agree more!!!

MCS with right spring and nitrogen pressure.

ha ha! this sounds so familiar! I've had my 3.1 for a year now and while the wife has no problems riding in it, she just hasn't figured out what my reasons are for choosing such an "impractical" Porsche. However, she actually took a slow motion test drive a week ago on some back roads for a half hour ( max. about 40 mph LOL). No problem for me if she doesn't want to drive it anyways!

Congrats and welcome to the 3 club ! I think you'll continue to love it.

Ditto. I love the notchy shifter.

Congrats!

Just yesterday I was walking by my car in the garage and thought "What will I ever want other than this?" And that's from someone who ALWAYS wants something else.

I personally love the shifter once it's warmed up. I'm never guessing where I am and I know when it's fully engaged. Best shifting Porsche I've had. You'll get used to it in not time and love it in less.

I agree about not knowing what else I would buy. I got in right before the latest price push and could walk away with a nice profit from the sale of my RS, but for what?! A Ferrari 360? Two NSXs? Five VW Buses? None of it appeals to me.

I love the shifter, but admit its taken some getting used to it.
