Sorry to see that. Like others said, good job keeping a bad situation from turning worse.
I have no experience with Yoko ADV's--do you reckon you're running enough pressure hot and where did you start the tires when cold? For one, Pirelli slicks are very susceptible to sidewall damage when we run them below 25 cold. Have learned to start them at 28 since and bleed them down...

I have never had a blow out at speed and figured I would be in for a great deal of drama in bouncing off the concrete walls; however, the car kept going straight and I was able to drive the car up the hill and out of every one's way. A sight to see when looking in the rearview mirror and you can see the rear bumper cover flailing away.

Same thing happened to a friend recently on a new set of R6.
Although they will not pay consequential damages you can likely get a set of new tires out of them as he did w/ Hoosier.
Sorry to see that but glad the damage was limited, sort-of...

Man, seems like there's nothing but tire delam stories on rennlist lately. Sorry to hear OP, glad you're OK and there was no drama. I'm moving to R6 this year as I have a trailer, was on NT01, seems right now it's a crap shoot...

Go figure, my third event after getting my car fixed from the last accident in Birmingham and I get into another incident, this time on the track. The left rear tire delaminated on the front straight at about 120 mph, luckily no drama, I slowed the car down and pulled over just over the hill just short of the sand trap. Since August I have had the car at total of eight weeks. The car is still in the repair shop, 10 weeks and counting.
The rear tires were Yoko ADV brand new set with the cycles on it. Tire pressure was 30 PSI in the rears. The strange part is that COTA has more Left turns and thus more stress on the Right rear.

I tend to get a bit higher pressure (temp?) on the left rear, I'd say mostly out of the 16-17-18 loading it well (running MPSS 30 psi cold, ending a session at 38-39 @75F day).
Something to watch carefully, I remember Scott's Hoosiers badly wore out on same tire (rear left) at the March BMWCCA trifecta event.

I think there are quite interesting loads on the left side at COTA.

The only left handers that are "heavy" are 19, 7, 10
