Default Tire blow out at COTA

Go figure, my third event after getting my car fixed from the last accident in Birmingham and I get into another incident, this time on the track. The left rear tire delaminated on the front straight at about 120 mph, luckily no drama, I slowed the car down and pulled over just over the hill just short of the sand trap. Since August I have had the car at total of eight weeks. The car is still in the repair shop, 10 weeks and counting.
The rear tires were Yoko ADV brand new set with the cycles on it. Tire pressure was 30 PSI in the rears. The strange part is that COTA has more Left turns and thus more stress on the Right rear.

Russo glad youre safe. Ive seen your car at the shop for a while now and wondered what happened. Why is it taking soo long?

Also, any recourse to Yokohama for the damage?

Wow, really sorry to see that. Is all that damage from the tire itself or did the car come in contact with something hard?

The damage was from the tire flopping at speed and hitting the body work.

I haven't bothered with Yoko, it is a track event after all.
The car is taking extra long since it also involved clutch damage.

I remember seeing it. Real bummer. I think the turns thing is deceiving. The lefts seem to be slower speed, tighter turns like 1, 11, 12, 20 while the rights are faster, longer sweepers like 2, 6, 13-14 and 16-18. Just my observation as I was looking at tire wear from the events there.

Wow, looks like a tire defect to me. I'd be sending Yokohama a letter with the invoices.

sorry to see that. That is such a bummer

my experience has been pirelli better than yok on RS. Always had good luck with R6, but never usd R6 at daytona.

Great job keeping it straight and minimizing the damage to the car.

I saw the same exact thing at mvp in march, blown tire up the hill, the gt3 just kept it straight, lots of run off.
