Everyone will have an opinion, but here's mine—which is based purely on overall enjoyment factor after thousands of miles in the cars:
1. 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 (simply sublime)
2. 996.2 GT3 (flawed, but quite charismatic)
3. 997.2 GT3/RS (very, very good...)
4. 997.1 GT3/RS (very good, but for dampers)
The above is for stock U.S. cars only. Start modifying the cars, or counting looks or interior quality or creature comforts or PCM etc, and all bets are off.

P.S. Not willing to rank 991 GT3 until I spend more time in them

Stout +1
He's probably spent as much time back to back to back with these cars as anyone.

I agree with this list. I still own my 996.2 GT3. I had a pumpkin new and never felt comfortable with the suspension. I would not rank the 997.2 RS very high initially due to the problems they had early on, and the rebuilds that occurred. I have not driven a 4.0 yet, but the cars Stout likes seems to mesh with my observations also.
