997 GT3 RS - SCCA ProSolo - Drag Race+Autox
I thought I would share something you don't commonly see, drag racing plus auto-crossing.
This past weekend I had the privilege to co-drive a stock 2011 GT3 RS that my good friend owns. We campaign this car on the SCCA Solo national tour and it’s the only GT3RS that has ever done a ProSolo or National Solo. For those that are unfamiliar with SCCA ProSolo it’s a drag race plus an auto-cross combination, very fun…

Cool...That's how I got my start in motorsports; Autocross hence my handle "Conekilr" I still get out once in awhile to keep the skills up. It was a great benefit when I went Road Racing especially at tracks I had never run before...

Very cool! I also got my start in motorsports autocrossing and still have several friends that compete nationally. I actually stopped by an event recently in my RS and thought that it might make a pretty good autocross car..especially since the orange cone marks wont' show up anymore!

I need to make it out to OC for autocross, that looks fun, despite the thrashing on the clutch... unfortunately I heard they are losing the facility in the not so distant future.

Fools that love great competition...
The tour stops many places in the US - (4 times in CA alone this year).
It's the only consistent amateur motorsport competition that I know of that actually gives out either payment or tires for winning or placement - per event.
