996 GT3. For 50k it is the most potent 911 Porsche for the money.

For under 100k you could probably pull off a Cayman R with a 3.8L stuffed in it.

For over 100k, a neat little option would be a 997GT2 like Eddie's.
6 speed and faster then most.
Same price range as 997.2RS but a true under valued 6 speed 911 IMHO. Deals do come around however.

In the meantime you could take your Mustang and turn it into a FFR Cobra

What about the C6 Grand Sport?

I see a guy trolling Tampa in one with some track oriented bits on it.

Just thinking out loud here.
Assuming warranty is a must:

What else could one look at until GT3 prices normalize, if that ever happens?
A Dragon?

I dig it, and if I were not already about to have a full garage, I'd snap one up for sure. Easy and cheap to maintain, brutally visceral, will be as fast as your driving skills allow

The people involved with the project are all "for real".

If we go non warranty, its all different and I agree on the 996GT3!

Great car, but performance too close to the lighter more characterful, pretty cheater 964.. I'd rather buy another 3.8L 964 than for the money.

They did not make a lot of progress between 1990 and 2004 seems like to me....

Nice, cant wait to hear track report Nizer!
4 door is nice more upright windshield.
Asparagus pee yellow?
Ceramics actually better than steel?

Trying to talk wifey into one to replace 535MSport but the manual thing is gong to be hard sell.

M2 still a year away.. http://www.caranddriver.com/features...bmw-m2-feature

I'm going for this, not for me for wifey, but at least I can maybe take it to the track once in a while:

Your cheater 996 does not count, but as far as ugly 996's go, yours is by far the most beautiful?
Selling?

M3 daily driver; doubt it will see track time. Yes, yellow - always liked similar color on earlier gen M3. Wanted something besides white/silver/black and Yas Blue didn't work for me on Bimmer. I'd be blowing smoke if I said ceramics were about anything but the bling factor.

M235i for wife is nice choice; make sure to get the M-performance diff installed (port or dealer option). You will be impressed.

M2 will be the track attack weapon. Can't wait to drive it.

996 is indeed good choice!

better yet, just buy geisha and put her back into action. she has good provenance and you know both owners.
