Hoosier A6 vs R6...which is better for DE events?
I've had a conversation with a handful of people and some people say the A6s are better while others say the R6s are better. I heard that A6s are softer and have better grip but that they fall off faster than the R6s. Any thoughts on which tire is better for DE events?

you will kill off A6s in less than a day if you go fast.

i heart my pirelli slicks... i have never tried them new only with 1 or 2 - 30 min sessions on them already from race teams and i just love the feedback/feel from them

How many hc's though on nittos? Well at least it seems your getting faster given your 2nd set has worn quicker : ). R6- good for 8-10 hc's 11-18 still good after 20 hc's - good way to improve on your car control. But man the 1st 8 hc's is pretty awesome. Mike

I only drive to the track with NT01s/RA1s or street tires. I've been starting to do "arrive and drive" where my shop trailers my car to the DE events (like they did a few weeks back when I ran the R6s). So no, I won't be driving to the events with Hoosiers or slicks.

I got 20 HCs out of the NT01s/RA1s and they were 80-90% gone....they probably had another 2-4 HCs left but I didn't have an extra set of wheels so I changed the tires since I was driving to and from the track.

Previous owner of my 996 GT3 was using R6 for the rear and A6 for the front. I never tried that but curious if anybody else tried that...
I only get ~15 HC with my R6 before they cord on the rear

Interesting idea...on my previous car I would cord the rears way before the fronts would be worn, and after one experiment of replacing only the rears and vowing to never do it again (talk about excessive understeer), I was throwing away fronts with lots of life left in them.
Very interested to see if anyone else has tried it.
