The Denali HD is quite livable as a daily. I never planned on it being my daily, but it gets used more than anything else. Just shy of 3 yrs old with about 39k miles on it.

I am going to go checkout a big GMC next week to satisfy the crazies here, but I'm not sure I can pass mooty's drive test. i can barely drive manual, and definitely not while eating and I don't have cup holders in RS so no drinks but maybe having auto in truck allows me to do the coffee thing at same time. No kids so one less distraction there.
Mooty: 4k for featherlite new? Where?
Featherlite vs. Trailex for open?

XL yukon is great, with captain seat 2nd row even better. 13.2mph is better than what we get on track. i think the RS is 5mpg.

5 MPG - Quit your bragging Sonny...... I go 3.8 MPG on my 12C when I took it to TWS!

Been towing with X5s (both first and second gen) using an open trailex for over ten years. They tow beautifully. You don't need a huge pickup to tow with an open light trailer and the brakes on the BMW blow away anything on a pick up/American SUV.
But get the V8. I own a 2013 diesel and it's been in the shop for months with recurrent CELs- definitely a lemon. These are known issues- but BMW sure isn't advertising them.

How is it a lemon if these are known issues that BMW won't address? Sounds more like a design weakness. Our X5D had no major problems but I know of another person who's had the car in the shop more than at home.

It's a lemon because it's been in the shop for months. It has design issues (presumably) because according to the service advisor, they've have X5ds with similar issues and they're working with BMW to solve them. I'm disappointed because I thought the car would be a very reliable 100K no brainer (as my other X5s have been). It's barely over a year old and has visited the shop six times for this issue alone.

I vote for the "arrive and drive" option like I did this weekend.
