I have seen stock 996 GT3 not pass 92 db at Laguna Seca. You still need to lift through T5

Stock Caymans/Boxsters will not even pass 92. Induction noise blows sound.

And yes, stock 6GT3 will also blow 92.

I had the same config at one point. I registered a 92.8 db, so depending on weather I could see not passing sometimes.

I was at LS with PCA this past November with my 6GT3. I had stock exhaust system. I was a bit worried about the 90dB but after passing the sound booth WOT a few times, I relaxed and had a great time. As mentioned, weather condition plays a role and I don't know how close I was to 90dB. But for the record my stock exhaust 6GT3 was below 90dB both days I was there

whose 6gt3 failed 92? it's got a blow muffler i bet.
for 6 years, i have never once failed sound at LS in stock 996gt3, 90-100 db days, sunny, cloudy, foggy, rain.

rosen, potter, two of the fastest 6gt3 driers never once failed.

couple guys with stock 6 GT3 came up to me to ask for help at LS hoping there is a similar type of valve trick to pass sound as 7 GT3. I looked around their car, no valves and they had to lift at T5

Maybe their exhaust is louder for some reason? If you track all the way out to the right on T5 and hit the rumble strip (like what I do all the time) it will increase couple db due to tire noise from rumble strip and closer proximity to the sound meter

Anyway, it's a stupid track with stupid rules. Why do I need to run 90 db in a race track driving a sports/race car? I hope they will make another rule change and only allow electric cars on track surface with 20 db

Guys, I was planning to go to LS with my new and stock 991 GT3 (HOD day next month). Should I just take my other car (M3) or is there a way to pass?
