Default Refunds - How Long of a Wait Time?

Dear Fellow Rennlisters,

Many of us have bought items on this forum and have had success with the honest members here. Recently, I had purchased several items from a "reputable" seller and was promised a refund since items were not delivered on time nor properly.

How long do you expect to wait to receive your money back? I do not want to name "names" but I would like to know what others think on the forum?

2 weeks? 1 month? 2 months? Tks.

CL

well this person states he doesn't use "paypal". i had paid the seller by check in full back on 08/2013 for all the items (roughly $8500), i'm waiting for a $3600 refund for the items that were delivered incorrectly.

+4 months? That's not right. Try to resolve it with the seller, before making it all public here. That will give you the best results. And the items were returned in good order? What does "delivered incorrectly" mean?

Get your money back now! 4 month is ridiculous. Is he lost in the woods or on the moon that he cant write you back a check?

I had paid the seller in full on 08/2013 but the bumper he sent to me 4 months later on 12/2013 was the for the wrong model.

i sent the bumper back in good order on 12/4/2013 (signed receipt/delivered), but still have not received a refund.

DOnt want to release names? F that. Root the seller out. this is one of the reasons RL exists.
Next give the seller 2 days, then take action.

i have a whole email strand of evidence, but i want to give the seller a chance.

honestly, i've dealt with great people like mooty, gt3de, the greek, dsu - all without any hiccups or problems. there are definitely great people on this forum, i would like to keep it that way.

Well that's just over a month, and many holidays and delays involved. Give the seller a call, and get confirmation and resolution.

Give the man his money back!

If he doesnt, give the name out. We all need to know or he will go for the next victim. I shouldve done that with "my" story last year.

2 days and then reveal if not resolved. Fedex and a check solves a problem that's gone on too long.

So many good sellers here. No reason to protect one that's not.

Not sure how somebody can send the "wrong" bumper. They should know better then to waste everybodies time and shipping money.

Naturally, to be fair, once the bumper has been recieved back by the seller with you recieving completed shipping confirmation stating as such then the refund should happen within 2 Business days maximum.

There are easier ways to scam money then sendinging wrong parts.
Id say give the seller another chance to respond as he surely has a story. Being short of money shouldnt be one of them however….

agreed, sending the "wrong" bumper is inexcusable. the reason being is cause i had ordered a CF bumper. however, since it was a drop shipment, the seller did not know the person making the CF only makes a RS bumper. he ended up sending me a RS bumper and I had to pay to repackage the bumper and mail it back. wasted 4 months of my time...
