they aren't worn out when the tread is gone....how was it driving them on the street when they have no tread? If no chance of rain I'm sure they are fine.

Yeah, they were not corded yet when I changed them but they definitely had less than a day left in them. The driving was fine on the streets and highway with no tread as it was warm & dry. One of the benefits of living in So Cal that it stays warm & dry a lot.

Don't rub it in 39º and raining here as winter settles in for a long stay

I've just gone with Continental ContiForceContact, they are very popular at the Ring.

Sorry I did not state the tire size I would be using.
All rims are 18", and fronts are a bit wider than original (car has cup car front fenders).
So tire sizes are 265/35/18 front, and 295-315/30/18 rear (Currently has 315 wide Hoosiers on rear)
sstjohn, I'd be very interested in your Nittos, but I'm near San Francisco and you are in FL. Would be a significant shipping bill.

Three Wheelin'
Toward the end of life of nt01, it does get slippery. Fun sliding. I think someone pointed out (I think jack Olsen) that newer nt01 compound is a bit different than 2 years ago. He noticed toward the end, the grip level drops significantly than the older nt01 he was used to. What you guys think?

just ignore the sliding. keep going.
you know it's done when you end up in dirt.

If you want a street tire to use most of the time, that will also hold up well at the track, then RE11/AD08/GForceRival 18". MPSS is not a good track tire if you are a fast driver - they overheat quickly, but will do in a pinch.
