Really? I got 7 days out of my one and only set along with 2,500 highway/street miles. Guess I wasn't pushing the car hard enough.

I got 8 track days on my fronts with a commute across the pan handle and back.

Should be enough on the front for one more winterfest. (hopefully)…

they aren't worn out when the tread is gone....how was it driving them on the street when they have no tread? If no chance of rain I'm sure they are fine.

Yeah, they were not corded yet when I changed them but they definitely had less than a day left in them. The driving was fine on the streets and highway with no tread as it was warm & dry. One of the benefits of living in So Cal that it stays warm & dry a lot.

Don't rub it in 39º and raining here as winter settles in for a long stay

I've just gone with Continental ContiForceContact, they are very popular at the Ring.

Believe me, we make up for it by paying more taxes.

Sorry I did not state the tire size I would be using.
All rims are 18", and fronts are a bit wider than original (car has cup car front fenders).
So tire sizes are 265/35/18 front, and 295-315/30/18 rear (Currently has 315 wide Hoosiers on rear)

sstjohn, I'd be very interested in your Nittos, but I'm near San Francisco and you are in FL. Would be a significant shipping bill.

Toward the end of life of nt01, it does get slippery. Fun sliding. I think someone pointed out (I think jack Olsen) that newer nt01 compound is a bit different than 2 years ago. He noticed toward the end, the grip level drops significantly than the older nt01 he was used to. What you guys think?

Just curious about road noise and ride quality with the NT-01s. Do you notice at all or it doesn't matter anyways because of all the track mods??

Another NT01 recommendation!

The new Michelin`s are sweet but vastly overprices compared. Only caveat is the NT01`s don`t like rain.

NT01 is a "streetable" track tire. It's noisy, tram-lines big time, and wears out very quickly if you have a track alignment. If your car sits in a garage most of the time, waiting for a drive to the track and the occasional joyride, then it's the tire for you.

If you want a street tire to use most of the time, that will also hold up well at the track, then RE11/AD08/GForceRival 18". MPSS is not a good track tire if you are a fast driver - they overheat quickly, but will do in a pinch.

Toyo R888 are very good in the rain and you can drive to the track on them
