Hasn't the market ie real buyers already spoken?
They are increasing in value and will continue to do so.
As I stated above when inflation starts to ratchet up (which it will) all hard assets will increase in value.

It will only go up. Forever.
If there is ever a dip, I will buy one again if I am able to.
I knew this when I sold it, but this sky rocket price increase surprised me. Certainly sold to early, I knew that too but having a car sit unable to track it annoys me.

Like Seinfeld described the 73 RS, in time, it will probably be the next dead man's car - one that changes owner only when the owner dies.

...or until values drop 20%, whichever comes first.

We are experiencing a bubble being inflated by the Fed. It cannot last forever. Like other inflated markets, once investors begin to liquidate their positions, others will fear a drop, and the market will correct.
I do not think comparisons to the 2.7 RS are valid. While there may have been more than twice as many 2.7 RS produced, it took decades for them to become 'blue chip' collectibles. In that time, many were used up, while most 4.0 RS have gone straight into collections. And they were never imported to the US by Porsche, so for those decades they remained elusive in one of the biggest collector markets. More significantly, the 2.7 RS was a bigger step up from the 2.4 911S than the 4.0 RS is from the 3.8 RS.
And then there will be the 991 RS. Its performance will eclipse the 4.0 RS by a wide margin. Yes, it will likely be PDK with EPS and without a Mezger, but the 2.7 RS became an icon because there was no successor for decades, and therefore nothing else like it. Between the other 996 and 997 GT3 variations and the more capable 991 GT3 and all of the versions to follow, I just don't see the 4.0 RS being anywhere near as significant.

991 GT3: e-steering, e-brake, e-diff, RWS, engine..all are not racing-CUP based. Not even the suspension parts are 991 CUP..I dont think people will be that stupid. Looking at the huge value losses of 991 series..I would be surprised if the 991 GT3 would be spared from it. The only thing that could speak for the 991 GT3 is that it might be the last GT3 - no more 991.2 GT3 ..
Otherwise I fully agree to what you write..it took the 2.7RS years, it was the beginning etc...but still - it was produced in a too high number compared to 4.0.
Everybody is talking about the 2.7RS..but who talks about a 993 GT2? almost forgottem but its prices are already way higher then 2.7RS..- if you ask me it has only one reason: because it was produced much much less..there is maybe a small demand for the car..but at around 220 produced..there is always more demand than supply. 1500 for the 2.7RS..is for me at current prices too high..I would rather tend to say that 2.7RS prices will go down..whereas 4.0, 993 GT2 will be stable (+-15%)..as there are too many 2.7RS to choose from.
