I'd be curious to hear what more (if anything) that Bill told you about the 3.8 RS market and his thoughts on it. Although I own a potentially below average 3.8 RS (due to mileage), I did buy the car suspecting that it would become a modern day classic as the last of the Mezger, last of the 6MT cars. Nothing I've seen since buying my car in May of this year has lessened these thoughts...but always curious what someone actually in the industry of buying/selling them thinks.

Yes, mileage degradation has such a perceived conflict to value.

I like the way Mr. Glickenhaus phrases it:
"Not putting miles on your Porsche is like not having sex with your Girl Friend so she'll be more desirable to her next Boy Friend."

Interesting but makes a lot of sense...I don't pass up driving beautiful things when I get the opportunity...

Byers now has a GT3 listed at $179,970

http://www.byersimports.com/used/Por...1cbee0bac2.htm

Really nice folks at that place, but at this point its worse than activist hedge fund managers. They're just manipulating prices.

Maybe I'm the irrational one, though.

EDIT: Looked up the VIN and it's in fact an RS with PCCB.

Byers is still in the game of controlling the GT3/RS supply but that's not as grossly priced as I thought.

^ if i had more time, i would also buy up 30-40RS and control the RS market. it's a business, they have a lot of capital tied up. and buyers can have several cars to chooose from. try to shop on your own and see how far you will go before you get tired.

i am trying to buy a RSA, after 2 months, i am getting tired. looked for 993gt2, got tired. then assuming you find one, you have to fly out there to see it. then you would hope to find few others to compare so you can theoretically pick the better one...

new cars i like msrp
used cars, i be happy to pay 10k fee to find a car i really really want.

but i no longer like porsches. where can i buy used aston martin like psot #99?

there's a deposit on it already.
someone run the VIN
the sales guy told me it is an RS.
but based on miles it's WAY below mkt. either something is wrong or the re-seller is an idiot.
