Great advice from the forum

I got a grey car with 11K miles for around $144K. At the end of the day it ended up being CPO. I took a flier, don't have the time right now to have investigated it firsthand, so taking a little risk, but that is ok.

Something weird is happing in GT3 RS market. There is a dealer in OH, buying up every car they can get. I think the idea is to just hang out in the jet stream of the 4.0 cars.

Super excited to get the car. It is ruining my enthusiasm for the 991 TTS that I had ordered due Jan.

Very sad to say.....but this might be the last manual transmission car i ever own (unless I get the courage to buy a Singer). Sort of feel like this is a keeper

As someone who would be tickled to death to own a 7.2 GT3 RS, I can agree but there has to be a dip in this market.

It just seems like the 4.0 has had an overreaction to its valuation and the 3.8 is there as well.

Within the next 6-12 months, the 991 RS will arrive and in addition to 991 GT3's joining the world market by the hundreds (if not over 2,000) and receiving what I believe will be rave reviews, the 997 market will change.

The result, I think is this: If you get a 997 RS then keep it. It will probably not lose much value at best, lose $30k in value at worst (unless you paid $160k for a 3.8) If not, at the $150k price range next year, pick up a 991 RS. It will, without a doubt, be an incredibly competent sports car and will still have that RS badge while being the first of its generation.

All in all you'll either get a special H-pattern gearbox GT3 or you'll get a first-of-its-kind PDK-S GT3.

At the end of the day (right now literally--23:17 at the time writing) I'm super excited with whatever results of this.

well ^ yes and no
all the good 3.8 will be hidden and kept. those owners will add 991 not replace 997. in fact, if anyone has a cherry RS3.8 (i have high standards and have not seen ONE 3.8rs i would buy except the damn car that the owner is n't selling.) pls pm me. if the car has pcm and or chrono, do not bother me. many of use are now stockpiling 7.2rs. so it's price will go down, yes, but not the very nice cars.

dont bother timing the mkt, i have had quite a few rs's more than my finger and toes. i still cannot time it right. dont worry about dep'n either.

at 150 yes, you can buy 991gt3, but when you sell it, you total cost of ownwership is higher with 991 than 997, even if you bought a 997 at 160k today.

for ref, i will have 991gt and rs inbound. i know i wont keep them more than 12 months each. but 997.... i keep buying them.. or even 996gt3 for that matter.

of course, that's just my cloudy crystal ball

Nice lead you got; please post pictures if it goes through. I know mooty seems to place big emphasis on wiring money immediately so I've followed that advice. I am not hesitating when the right deal comes up.

Mind sharing some of the options/exclusive features?
Sticker on the car was about $166k so it is well optioned...PCM 3.0 Navi, full leather, PCCBs (taken off), front lift, sound plus, dynamic cornering lights, bluetooth, lightweight battery, sport chrono, bucket seats, and clear tail lights. The car also has a 5-lug conversion and Guard LSD upgrade.

Grab a .2RS for me and PM me, Godfather. I want a nice one to drive once a month and stash in my garage for 10 years.

i drink only premium root beer. they are harder to find than single malts. or a case of navarro pure grape juice would be nice.
