With many asking up to and beyond $375K, I'm surprised someone hasnt outright bought it for $340K
You know you've seen too many 4.0 listings when you think. white, 4.0, $340K. good deal

Saw a white one somewhere last week for $275k. Have a good friend that paid $225k 10 months ago for a black one with $4k miles. Market seems a little silly right now but more power to those who are enjoying the appreciation so soon. That doesn't happen too often.

Wow Porsche is becoming or trying to become just like Ferrari, where the car is bought, pampered, hidden in a garage and sold for more money because the next person wants a...................... To be honest my cup of tea. I buy a car I drive my car.
GLWS whoever's car that is.

Wait till the new 991 GT3 RS hits the streets as a 4.0L.
You will see price of the 997 4.0 drop and more will become available...
This 991 RS will be an amazing car and will be faster and better than the 4.0.

Faster isn't always better. I enjoy the "analog" driving experience far too much to own a GT3 saddled with a PDK. Or a Panamera interior.
It may be the quicker car but there are lots of other enthusiasts besides me who feel that Porsche jumped the shark with the 991 version by only offering what Porsche feels we should have, instead of what some of us want. I'm voting with my wallet and keeping the one I have or upgrading to a 997 RS later on.
IMHO, after the buyers that have to have the latest-greatest GT3 have experienced the PDK version and soon find it boring in comparison to a manual, I question if there will really be a major price drop with the 997 versions, especially considering the steadily and rapidly escalating price point of a new Porsche.
Having been an incurable Porsche freak for nearly 42 years, I firmly believe and predict that the 997 GT3RS 4.0 will soon eclipse the venerable 1973 Carrera RS as THE greatest 911 ever...period. If I had the means, I'd buy Mooty's 4.0 today.
But, if the 991 GT3 moves you, by all means, go for it! It's just not my cup o' tea.

1. Faster does not always mean higher second hand price..otherwise a Nissan GTR would much higher in demand..
2. 2.7RS - also fully agree - if you look at the prices of the 2.7RS..knowing how many they produced (compared to a GT2RS, 4.0) you can only come to one conclusion - 2.7RS way overpriced. Lets see what happens in 5 years..
PS: Any idea what happened to the 1960 roadster from you ?

That's kind of a sad story. I sold the '61 356B Drauz Roadster to a friend. He later rearended another car which caused a lot of frontal damage to the Porsche.
At the time I also had a '62 356B D'ieteren twin grill Super 90 roadster that was missing it's engine and the floor pans were rusted through. This was before repro pans were available. Aside from the pans, the body was in very good shape structurally. I paid $400 for this car back in 1973 (!) There were only 248 or 249 of these '62 D'ieteren Roadsters built and they are hugely valuable today when restored correctly.
Anyway, the sad part is that I sold the '62 to my friend who used it as a parts car to repair the '60 by having a body shop graft the '62 front clip to the wrecked '61. It was actually a nice repair but in retrospect, the wiser move would have been to cut the floor pans out of the '60 and weld them into the '62. That way, there would still be an intact D'ieteren Roadster on the road. He still has the '61/62.
I apologize getting off topic but the story may be interesting to some.
