Default Luggage recommendations + Track day packing

Hello

Was wondering in there is any particular luggage recommendation for the 997 GT3... Is there a particular suit case that fits/works well for an extended weekend trip?

For track days... Any particular packing method used to take light tools, jack ect...

Heavey/hard stuff like tools and jack in the Frunk for safety, soft holdalls poked in the cage area or passenger footwell if solo.

I'm not kidding
a small box of tools wrapped in large moving blanket, use blanket as carpet once in paddock
I put EVERYTHING else in large trash bags.
no one will touch them
also make it clr to wife they are NOT trash.....ask how I know
I did it for five years until I trailered

Make sure you put a nice heavy blanket or towels over the top of anything in the frunk. A speed bump you don't see or a bump or road hazard can make thinks in your trunk hit the underside of your trunk lid cover--even hard enough to dent it--and be seen from the outside.

Not that I do the track or anything but.... I keep a nice cooler in the front that holds any liquid items, but also extra oil if needed. Walmart (aka WallyWorld) has a nice one with a removable plastic tub that will not leak). So translate my cleaners, detail, oil and fru-fru stuff into motor oils, brake fluids and stuff you really do not want to escape. I'll also stuff the smaller tools in there that will not fly around.

For just travel stuff (luggage) we carry a set of those ballistic nylon duffels behind the seats, and for whatever is back there just get a cheap twin matress black sheet to cover that keeps anything that may roll forward from ruining the CF seating.

Fru Fru Bob.....Over and out.

I lined my frunk with heavy (and I mean HEAVY) duty cardboard. I cut it to shape for the floor, and sides. Then, as others have said, all the heavy stuff went here. Floor jack, soft-sided tool box, jack stands, wood blocks, fluids, etc. I used a couple of plastic tarps (my "race deck" at the paddock) as the "roof" of the frunk to keep stuff from denting the hood. Stuff that was too large - jack handles, breaker bars, etc - went in the rear. I used a furniture pad to keep stuff from scuffing or scraping the interior. I always placed my luggage roller bag (standard carry-on size for airlines) in the passenger seat.

Ah, the good old days of driving to the track! Of course, I trailer now.

lol, lar is 3D modeling king.

btw when i say moving blanket i mean HEAVY and LARGE ones. but it in truck first, put everything else on it. then stuff the rest of the blankie in. upon arrival, i lift the blankie out with everything in. takes 5 second. REMEMBER HEAVY DUTY AND BIG BLANKET, you dont want it to break and your floor jack lands on the bumper and crack it.

Lots of great ideas here, packing for a drive-to track day ... I love the moving blanket idea and will use that for sure.

What are the 'critical' items / tools to pack for a 2 day event? All must fit in the car!
