I think setup has something to do with it. I have a NB and I helped friends buy both a 4.0 and an RS. My only mods are a proper align and corner balance with -2.5/-2.0 camber and a diff rebuilt with Guard internals. Both the other cars were on factory (crap) alignments. The difference in turn in and handling was huge. I made my friend with the RS drive my car to espouse the virtues of proper setup. He was blown away and had it done shortly thereafter. Maybe that has something to do with "feel" comments for some?

Yeah, I should have started with an RS. If this is your direction, you are money ahead with an RS- there are some full track examples still available for less than 130. My mods BTW are more than that delta over a NB (there that is again!) GT3 unless you are looking at a sub 92K car.

Anyone have a .2 RS wing and decklid for cheap? Then I have it except for the light door panels and wider track.
u just missed the .2RS wing and uprights.
you should give me list of what you dream of like pjs. then when i get them, i email you

want CF/alcantara shfiter, CF mirror covers, etc....

Narrow Body- duh! I thought it was Neue Body or some such German acronym.

Mooty, you need to open Porsche GT used car and exotic part depot!

Painting other pieces now, so would have been cool to have the RS decklid, but for purity reasons I just can't do it (I hate wanna be cars), so for me it would have to be full race mod- RSR wing, CF decklid etc, like Dave's car. Then that's just stupid money. I've spent enough stupid money already. Need real race car. SCCA license school in two weeks, looking at real race cars for next year!

Very limited options for deep fields of competitive drives in PacNW. I am not interested in running in class of 2 to 4 cars, which most classes with SCCA and NASA have up here. Spec Racer Ford looks like the most likely choice for deep fields 15+, controlled spec motors and parts, and tight racing (top 10 usually within 1 sec). Bonus- cars cost around 20K. Spec Miata second, but super cheaters abound- winners never go nationals cause they know they will get caught, same with Pro3 (spec E30) where winning cheater motor costs $$$.

It terms of the difference of downforce b/w the NB GT3 and the RS rear wings, I considered upgrading to the RS wing, but a fellow rennlister did some numbers, and the difference isn't much at all. Maybe 20ish ft lbs of torque, but that number only exists after 100 + mph.

It's supposedly very different. SportAuto said NB is about 15KG rear at 200kmh, and RS is over 49KG depending on adjustment - that difference is huge. Whether mortals can make use of it on a track is a different story.

I put all this data in the table on the previous page. The 997.2 generation made massive strides with Aero, and the RS even more. The drag coefficient is the same as an E92M3, despite all the downforce. The difference in Ring time between the .1RS and .2NB is huge (8 seconds),and the RS puts another 7 seconds on that.

with all due respect, i think some of us are missing the point...
teh RS wing is big and looks racy. it has more down force, sure.... heck i dont even know how many hp i got. i just buoght it for the pleasure of able to delete the 'RS' sticker on the deck.

guys, this is irrational.
buy what you like.
the RS may or may not b worth the difference in $. you can justified it anyway you like to convince your inner child.

By that definition, Then when u combine parts from a rs onto a nb then you have the best of both worlds
