Default My 1st GT3...

My Wife and I have always had a very special love for Porsches and all they represent. We used to live on Southern Europe where we have lots of very fond memories from a few years ago, of our old 944 and our beloved 996.

About 3 Years ago we moved to Chile for work reasons. Luckily we were able to keep on driving Porsches, so we opted for a 997.2 S (first an '09, now a '12, last-build of the 997.2 series) and a Cayenne S ('08; can't get used to how oriental the 3rd-gen Cayenne looks). We love both cars and use them daily, but despite this, our "real favourite" Porsche has always been a GT3.

A few weeks ago, I dropped by the local representative for Cargraphic here; they had a wonderful '10 GT3 on consignment for sale. it's (now) former owner, had ordered a 991 GT3 due in September, and was in need to move this one. 2nd-hand GT3's are not easy cars to come by, much less so here in Chile. So I took the car for a test drive and 2 days later I was writing up the paperwork.

This '10 GT3 is Atlas Gray metallic (an interesting color I've already had a 997 on, and quite like it), has done all of 15.000 Km's (so just under 10k miles), is pretty well loaded with lots of creature comforts (for a GT3), and the prior owner recently installed a full "stage 6" cargraphic system (including mufflers, headers, cats, e-flaps and ecu reprogramming) for an alledged 474 Hp. Now I'm not sure if those figures are actually real, but the car really does feel more responsive above 4k rpm than the prior 2 stock 2010 GT3's I've tried in past occasions. Regardless of the actual power upgrade, what's more important to me, is how this car SOUNDS. it's truly MAGICAL.

I'm still getting acquainted with being back on a stickshift (the 997.2 S is a PDK), which is sheer pleasure with this car's magnificent motorsport-derived manual gearbox. For now the GT3 is the most driven of all 3 cars at home. I have a daily commute to work that entails a (still unpatrolled) 12-mile long, brand new toll highway with fast swooping curves and 3 tunnels, a scenario which is very hard to pass up when You have a GT3 staring at You in the garage before heading for the office.

Here's some shots I took at home a few days back after a little bit of TLC

Awesome car! 474 HP is where my car is at with full Akra exhaust and tune, so that sounds like a credible number with the mods you have.

Enjoy it safely, find a track to really experience it to it's fullest..

After numerous high speed (and loud) "winged Porsche" sightings, don't count on it being unpatrolled for too long! Enjoy your rocket.
