Insurance is great if you total the car and get a big check. Try hitting a wall, have insurance company fix and then resell. You'll be lucky to get half what a pristine version would bring.
Not sure about the antique being slow. Plenty of 996 CUP's and a few 997's in the rearview at VIR in June.

Ive been doing some research on antique....will be adding a few mods for the day reter gets his cup so I can pass him
-fill engine with more lightweight titanium
-billet crank
-extreme heads
-Hewlad transmission with dog cut gear
-replace heavy steel door with carbon (antique will be south of 1,900 lbs)
-incease rear tire from 275 to 335, make those slicks
-front and rear aero
this should get the antique sub 2:15 easy at Sebring
