Gang buys race car and its ack together
People in club racing are just de guys who progressed...but yes car do bang up once in a while. Just race something a minor bump won't financially kill you to fix
Of the club races I've even to, pca has the widest skill of drivers, try a different club and you may not go back to pca

Tap a wall with a 997 cup it's usually bent and u buy new tub
Tap a wall in a 996 cup u now own a parts car, very few new tubs left
A cage in a cup, while safe needs an exemption to be raced because the tubing is too thin..when it wrecks it crinkles
Tap a wall in an antique bring out the cutting torch and welder, no big deal

Racing a older Porsche is cheaper than taking a cup to a DE.....rodger tried to convince me a cup was cheaper one day, he finally stopped...this is just on track time

cup is FAST, hit wall it bends
antique is SLOW, hit wall, you wont even know it.

Simple comparison , price a set of axle for antique and cup

996 street car is another way to race rather in expensively, if u keep it off slicks
As long as a group of guys has same car it will be fun...like an ex konicar

Insurance is great if you total the car and get a big check. Try hitting a wall, have insurance company fix and then resell. You'll be lucky to get half what a pristine version would bring.
