fixed

...and the GT3 sounds like a car, GT2/GT2RS sound like a Dyson vacuum cleaner, with aftermarket exhausts they sound like a Hoover/ElectroLux/GE of your favorite noisy vacuum cleaner.

...remove the cats, and GT2 unveil a disgusting whiny sound, like using a dyson vacuum cleaner and a dental drill simultaneously.

No muffler GT2 sounds pretty cool to me.
Fiats sound almost as good a Chevy V8 but that is all it as going for it except skirt lifting at the valet, but Lambos are better at that.

GT2 makes noises that remind of anyone in an office space working late hours.

GT2 are overpriced in the used market, the 997 GT2 is a $80k car with asking prices near double that.

The following car has over 3 years of 0 depreciation on the used market, something to do with the music it makes (and the feeling it causes to driver, passengers, and passers-by). It is available at 997GT2 asking prices, and it is awesome reliable:

Very nice sound..

My fav car is ruff RGT8. At least it's a real car not a light weight GTR with awesome sound.
How much was depreciation the first 3 years? A Corvette per year?

Worse than that. $120k depreciation between 2009 and 2010 alone (2 Corvettes per year).

From 2009 to 2010, they lost 40% value from MSRP. Back in 2008 a couple sold for $450k and $480k (with a $499 asking). A guy that bought me tires paid $380k for his.

From Spring 2010 up until now they have stayed flat.

i don't think the issue is sound.. really.

No one disputes that turbos rob sound. But I guess I already got the answer to the rest of the package.

Thing is 997 GT2 costs the same as a 997.1 GT3 RS in the UK, would it be compelling for anyone with a 7.1 RS to switch to a GT2? Has anyone done it? or is it just tubo guys..

What is the profile of a Gt2 buyer? what makes someone buy a Gt2 over a Gt3 in the circumstance I described above?

I think as uou say it is a "turbo guy" thing, some guys just need the thrill of the push of turbo torque, no naturally aspirated motor ever came on cam like a boosted engine spooling up !
A GT3 feels lame and I even found the Carrera GT boring in this regard.

A properly built big valve high lift cam Mezger turbo engine reving to 7300+rpm can give plenty of satisfying noises as well as delivering a broad 900NM hit all up the rev band - NA engines pale in comparison for guys who crave this....

I hope the development guys at Porsche read the funny vacuum cleaner commments
