Wow, glad you are OK.
That could have been much worse if there were more cars on track arriving backwards into your location!

Thank you for the clarification of the cause. Sorry to hear about this incident, but glad to hear you are OK. That was a brutal hit and I had seen this on the web earlier and thought it might possibly be coolant fitting related and had posted it on the coolant fittings thread.

wow, that was a scary spin. Glad you walked away, it could've been worse. I hope you never experience an off again but if you do please stay inside your car, unless it is on fire. The next car could've hit the same fluid and come sliding right at you.
tough break man... good luck getting the 3 back on track.

I would strongly suggest the Hans and the halo seats as bare minimum considering the type of cars you are driving. Good luck and so glad to hear that you were not seriously injured. It's so easy with a heavy helmet to really damage the neck.

Frank...your english is fine...welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing this video as it reminds us of the extreme dangers of our little hobby. Really makes me think again.

the car stays on the black stuff the entire way and if both feet were in an enormous amount of speed was scrubbed prior to hitting - that was extremely fortunate
also, if you noticed the windshield didn't break either - another indication that the hit wasn't anywhere near as violent as that could have been - at 260kph straight into a tire wall that would not have been the outcome
next, the quality of what the car hit was was world glass in terms of absorbing the blow - i believe it was liquid filled containers that absorbed a lot of energy
finally, the car hit in a rotating manner - and it further slowed down as this happened - it is still a little surprising that a side airbag didn't go off - but again I believe the car hitting the extremely absorbent wall helped tremendously - if it was a tire wall or guard rail the bags should have all gone off
by not going off it also saved a huge amount of money if the car is fixable as the front airbags firing requires a dash replacement - it basically adds an immediate $6k to the bill
this accident could have been so much worse - if the car hit the wall on the left when it dove left it had a good chance of barrel rolling - and that would have been happening at 200kph

Glad to see you are ok.
As others have said == stay in the car unless it's on fire and keep your helmet on.
If oil is on track -- others could also go off.
I think holding your helmet helped.
Q for readers -- if you don't have a Halo seat -- will side nets help?

^^ good points above. As everyone has said, glad you are ok. This is one of the hazards of the sport for sure. Hope the car can be fixed and +1 on Hans and a halo seat.

That's why I put in Sparco's Ergo seat this season. The halo is removable for street driving. Each side takes 2 nuts and takes a few seconds to put them on.
See the 2 nuts on the side in this picture.
