Another 997.2 recall? - Air intake
There is a post on a UK forum suggesting that there is another recall for the 997.2 regarding the air intakes. Any news on this?

This is probably what broke on my RS last November and killed my engine. Porsche replaced my engine because they said it had a broken piece from the intake go into the engine, which detonated the engine.

Problem affects MY10 but not MY11 cars. The crux of the issue is with part number 997.110.116.90 "air distributor tunnel" which got superseded with .91 in MY11 (ordering number: 997.110.116.94). PM me and I'll do a VIN check for you.
Now the weird part--that .90 part number is common to all 3.6 Mezger engines as well as MY10 3.8's. Has anyone heard of similar issues with 997.1 cars?
Plenty of good info in this thread here. Can't believe I'm referencing that forum, but hey, credit's due when they actually come up with good stuff...

The other forum seems to imply that the 4.0 also has a problem which would suggest that the later 3.8 models are not free of risk?
My 2011 3.8 RS is at the dealer here in the UK - the new part was fitted yesterday. Same letter as above.

The issue also happened on at least two 4.0's and one late 3.8RS (Clarke).
It could be that they got to the bottom of the same parts bin and got to older models, but mine seems to have the right part number ending in .91.

The longer stroked GT1's (3.8L and 4.0L) have a low speed harmonic (around 3000rpm) that shakes things up and can loosen cam bolts, flywheels, and now maybe intake screws. Don't know this to be true, but PCNA did send out a TSB for those vehicles with single mass flywheels saying that a low speed harmonic is present.
