Default Battery Tender/charger.

So I know this is the wrong time of year to post this but I've recently had some issues with toys and their battery. ATV, Boat, car etc.

Looking for options on battery chargers/maintainers.

Recovery time, EZ use (auto or certain setting), requirement to run it.. "Set it and forget it." Flexibility between toys and battery types.

TIA.

battery tender is good too.

I use them on everything from go karts, motorcycles, ATV and of course the cayman.

I had a harley that seldom got rode but the battery lasted 4 years until I sold it becuase I always kept it plug in on a battery tender.

Good luck

Ctek... It's what Porsche repackage and sell... If its just for your P car either would be fine. if you intend to use on other toys, e.g jetskis etc get a Ctek unit that allows you to change the connector from cigarette lighter to clip etc... I bought a Porsche one for the car and was so impressed that I bought a Ctek 5amp batt maintainer for my other toys...

Note: unlike Porsche some other car makes will not charge via lighter option as the ignition must be on for it to work... FYI if you plan to use it on other cars too. May need to clamp directly to the battery...

I own 15 Battery Tenders, I haven't bought a battery on my 968, 2 911's, tractors, boats, motorhomes for years

If you look on line you can find them around 50/ea.

I don't know how expensive the Ctek thingy is, but if says Porsche on it you know it 50% more than needed.

Another thing is, if the BT somehow gets ruined, you can return it to Deltran for a nominal shipping charge and get a new one. I've returned a couple that got wet and a week later I had 2 new ones.
Great service and warranty..

These also shut down and maintain the battery for years on end. I have one that has been in service for 6 years non-stop.

Just disconnect your negative lead and be done with it. Too many issues with tenders IMHO.

+1. I bought the previous generation and burned it out in one year by not un plugging and turning it off before detaching from the battery. This new model has lasted me longer and is a better designed unit.

I have battery tender on everything in my garage. It is like a rats nest of wires.

Works great!

+1 on CTEK. Same unit porsche and ferrari sell, at a much lower price. Just keep an eye on the water in the battery (if you use lead acid) as it seems to drop more quickly with a tender, at least in my experience.

is on sale right now, and functions both as a full charger, and also as a maintainer/tender.

It's really best to have both.
