If so, don't even try to powerball or lotto.

It appears to me that there are not that many in the market right now.
Just going by looking through cars.com and Dupont registry I do not seen hardly any GT3/RS's for sale.
There are a $h!t load of turbos. The few '08 GT2's have actually gone up in asking price.
If the .2RS's would be expected with a year to be in the 90K+ range then the .1RS's will be a real bargin and then these will become a monster build.

so what I'm hearing here is 95k is a good asking price for that RS despite the miles huh?

I know, lowest LISTED price i've seen on a .1 RS is 90k for 26k example. That's 3 years older and 1/2 the miles of this one.

The new car's base cost is $130,000, plus (maybe) seats at $6-7,000. Has everyone forgotten the coolant leaks or the centerlock hubs? I think the depreciation pattern of the past will continue, and all GT3 and RS models will continue to fall until the GT3s level off at $60,000 and the RSs at $80,000, leaving aside pristine examples, in 2-4 years. But my guess is no better than yours.

I think you're comparing GT3s, not RSs... RS will be 160-170 easily.
At some point the 2010-2011 will cost 85-90, but not 9 months from now.
CL for GT3 only, not RS...
prices will drop ? sure, but not anytime soon, and not to 90K
That would be the perfect excuse to keep mine.

Perhaps that's a number still higher than a dealer offer. Dealers.
But it raises two interesting topics. At least to me. Market prices. Track miles.
There's good arguments for prices to stay here; good arguments for prices to resume going lower, as is the nature of the market. I don't see anyone arguing for higher prices. Nobody in December of 2011 (or since) has argued for higher prices (other than hyperbole about the 991 being such a disappointment.) But here it is, entering spring market activity, very few RS's on the market and prices are trending higher.
A 991 GT3 with PCCBs is US$145K. The RS 4.0 is msrp or higher.
If you want a third pedal in arguably "the best" modern day 911, there's only one car.
As for track miles versus street, I don't perceive much difference beyond maintenance. I think the lifespan is still a matter of years. Just the car by the owner, by the service history, but not by some perception that honking around a track is somehow accelerating the aging process by a discernible factor. In any case, Porsche put a maintenance interval on centerlocks for track driving. They didn't say anything about the drivertrain, just the crappy "version 1.0" centerlocks. Some say they've seen "a lot" of 996 and 997 GT3 engines grenade. I've not seen even one. Everyone (except Porsche) has seen the coolant fittings. Some have seen the clutch fail (and the preventative measure is a partial engine drop and 4.0 clutch.) It's not a cheap car, the RS 3.8, to track, but for what it is, I think it's a lot of car and not over the top on running costs.
As others have noted, at 50-60K miles, $90K ask, with the market at say $140K for a "no stories" example, either you want the bargain, or you don't. Whatever the next owner does, they should buy an aftermarket warranty. One that works.

Im in the bay area and the car isnt available for showing yet, otherwise I would have looked at it today. Ill report back here after I look at it. Maybe my car will be up for sale to those looking for .1 GT3s after all.

yes, the 991 has replaced the 997.2.
BUT, the 997.2 is the last of the 6 speed GT3. Thus 997.1 and 997.2 prices will remain stable along with the fact that the 991 is damn expensive when compare to used 997.2 market.
In 9 months the 997.2RS will be where they should be given their age. $105-115.
the 997.1RS with be 80-85k.

If I turn out to be without RS, I would buy it sight unseen, strap it in a truck to Orbit and give it the punishment it has been begging for the last 58K miles... It would be a sub 2:15 car at Sebring likely never to depreciate.

I dunno about sight unseen, but I'd agree on price contingent upon a decent PPO with no unhealthy over-revs then feel pretty good about it as a trailer dwelling track car. Get a full cage welded in, strip the flubber out of it, fire system, one halo seat with HANS. Nice and safe DE junkie whip with maybe some social wheel to wheel 13/13 gentlemen's motorsport? Oh to dream the impossible dream!

Once the 991 GT3 comes out and thrashes all the late model GT3 RS on the track, people will dump them. Maybe not RL people, but others. It won't matter if they can or cannot drive at the limit on the track, a vast majority do not buy this car for that purpose. Like other Porsches (Turbo, GT2, etc.), they are mostly (and unfortunately) a trophy for poseurs- if more hardcore drivers owned them we would have had the coolant pipe recalled/factory fixed by now, but most of these cars never see that sort of use (and some would say, abuse).
So yes, sooner or later, in my opinion these will be available (changing hands) at $85k.
