I drive to track 100 miles one way... Which will be an upgrade from mpss
Looking for more grip and longevity compared to mpss. Advise? Running 19s.

^^^ yep...no NT01 in 19".
For drive to the track tires in 19" I'd get Pirelli Trofeo R. a lot more grip than MPSS however you will get a lot more wear from MPSS though. Which is more important to you?

Rival not available in 19. RE-11A doesn't seem to be available in 19 either.
If you get more grip you're probably going to be sacrificing longevity. Most on the forum seem to think the MPSS is about the best combo of the two.

NT01 if available in your sizes.
RS3 if not.
RS3 if not.

NT01 is DOT approved R compound. RS3 is still street compound, but grips very well for street compound. IIRC treadwear rating for NT01 is 100 and RS3 is 140.
NT01 will grip more, but not last as long as RS3. Decide which is more important.

Get a set of cheap 18" track wheels and you're favorite rcomp. You'll thank me later.

tgavem what wheels are you using with the NT-01s?
I had originally thought about doing the same, but even with my ultra lightweight 18" Fikse wheels the 4 wheels/tires were higher than the load rating for the Porsche roof rack so I went with a tire trailer.
According to Porsche the load rating is 165lbs. The NT-01 tires are 110lbs and my wheels are 86lbs. Add in some plywood and straps and it's 200lbs. Didn't feel comfortable exceeding the load by 35lbs and risking the rack ripping off under emergency braking situation.

I am thinking now to do same rack thing as when I drive to WGI or NJ it is a very long trip and going there on only 4 mounted wheels is a problem...
from technical side of things if u mount 3 wheels on a roof and 1 rear wheel goes inside then it should be somewhat OK. but I am not sure if I was able to fit 335 12" wide wheel into front seat.
other option would be to ditch right front seat altogether but, hmm, I still like to have somebody in right seat from time to time to teach me. not sure.

I apologize, not my car, this gentleman drove down from Dallas. He used aluminum rails bolted to the Porsche rack, and the tires bolted down to the rails using all thread bolts. I looked very solid but I did not ask him about the load nor load ratings. I am tempted to do this on my car, however.......
For my 996 GT3 I run AD08 on my stock 18 inch wheels. I started with DE events 1 year ago and bought my GT3 in December. In order to learn the car, grip limits, etc etc, I will continue to run AD08 for at least another year or so. Seen to many cars with R compound or slicks slide off the track once the tires let go and driver not having the skill to counter. And this is only on 8 weekend events. Last one was two weeks ago at NOLA. Green driver, 2nd event in a 997 S, fully track set up (not street legal) - came out of corner onto straight, to much throttle, car turned 110deg to direction of travel and headed straight for guardrail.

Sure you can drive back and forth to the track on the Nittos. No problem. Just hope it doesn't rain and expect the tires to wear out very very quickly.
