YMMV:

We have gotten about 20,000 miles out of these tires on street cars in the past. Many high performance cars like the EVO, STI and GTR come stock with soft tires that get about similar mileage. Several of our staff drive NT01's on a daily basis.

+1. I have in the past, and have known others to DD on NT01s. The amount of wear from street driving is negligible to track driving. You may lose a few laps, not a significant amount. NT01s will typically last 5 track days, and that number doesn't diminish when you drive them up to the track, I my experience.

The problem with the oem roof rack: its load rating is exceeded by wheels/tires in our sizes.

If you have to do it, I would treat it as towing and not exceed 55mph.

This is all relative to how much you drive. I just finally corded a set of MPSS after about 12k miles. They had a 300 TW rating if I'm not mistaken.

NT01 has a TW rating of around 100.

So if you're okay with replacing rears on a regular basis, then you can run them as DD's.

But why would you run it as a DD? You'll never come close to coming anywhere near what they're capable of the street. You'd be better off running NT05 or MPSS. And if you're the type of guy that only does 2 DE's a year, you probably won't hit the limit on a TW300 tire either.

I already did 6 days on mpss... rears are wearing 2x fast as front as expected. I plan to do 2-3x a month so wanting to try diff tires.

nt01 is out of question since no fitment on 19s. And roof system is out for me since I have 2010. Shouldve gotten .1 gt3 with 5 lug =)

Roof rack is a bad, bad, bad idea. I imagine the lawyers would have a field day with that one should something go awry. Can you imagine the carnage if that came apart on the interstate....

Get a little tire trailer like I pull. Easy peasy lemon squeazy.
