Default Anyone know this 07 GT3

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=3

It's at a dealer in New Jersey, Top Gear Imports. The carfax shows original owner in Calif., till around 8/30/11. Then it went to Florida 10/28/11, where it looks like 2 owners had it in a few months. After that it was auctioned and wound up in NJ. VIN is WP0AC299X7S792245

Any help is appreciated.

I know the car ... my friend did some of the present work, and I checked the car on the lift and interior.

I'm the one that paid for the recent PPI at Jack Daniels Motorsports. Top Gear then used *some* of the results of the PPI to market the car on eBay in their updated listing, along with a price increase:

There are some serious issues, in my mind - feel free to PM or email me for more details.

Sure. I'm happy to detail all the line-items in the PPI with anyone like Ron that's looking seriously at the car.

* For me, the biggest issue was the DME reset - Top Gear attributes this to the software upgrade but I call BS. No way to tell if the car has spent any RPMs in any overrev ranges.
* Belt service needed
* struts leaking
* fuel filter service
* Error faults in PCM
* Major service needed
* Poor glass alignment
* "lots of body/paintwork" associated with RS bumper retrofit
* Poor roof fitment of GMG Carbon roof and "hole in roof"
(These last three gave me the suspicion that the car had been in an incident and repaired outside of insurance)

The car looks like a winner, particularly with the carbon buckets and the host of GMG components. On a hunch, I called GMG and spoke to Fabryce, one of the founders, to ask if they had done the work on the roof. I was thinking that if GMG had done the work, it would lend some credibility to the sale: Was the carbon roof an upgrade or a replacement? etc. In any case, GMG didn't know the car.

Hope this is helpful - feel free to PM/email me for the full list from the PPI.

I am also surprised when they did the sunroof delete/carbon roof replacement that they reused the dome light surround piece from the sunroof car, and didn't replace it with a RS/non sunroof part. I replaced mine, and it was only about $40.

Don't like the LED front turnsignals, and no fan on the rear deck lid. As for the DME reset, I have never heard of a flash resetting the Overrev count, the only way is with a new DME AFAIK.

Bingo. I wouldn't go near a car like this. Have no idea the history of the DME and more importantly, over revs. Run Forest, run.

ron: I had a dealer trying to sell me a car that I knew hit a wall. They took the PO's word that it was not crashed. I told them that I would buy the car if it passed my PPI if not they pay for PPI. Since I knew the car was stuffed I would have bought it and use the results to leverage a reduced price. Unfortunately the work was not correct. WIth the intel you have it would be hard to pursue this one. If it was in the same town it might be fun to mess with the dealer.
