I'm keeping mine ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Don't trust the rear steering and I think I'll get bored with pdk... Great for laptimes no question about it but there's more to it than that...

I traded a 2012 gtr for my 2010 gt3...couldn't be happier. I am sure the 991 gt3 is amazing but I just switched cars to get a 3rd pedal and lightweight drivers car. I am not interested in going back to a techno car. if so I should have kept the Nissan (530hp 448lbft, dual clutch, awd and 50k less money...morbidly obese but stupid fast and easy to drive). Nope, there's no going back. I really like my 997.2 gt3, it's just more involving and more fun.

I'm sure the 991 GT3 is going to be an amazing car. People who prize the latest/greatest and the fastest easy lap times will flock to them in droves. Me, I dreamed of my car for years. When I finally got it, I couldn't pry the smile off my face. 2.5 years later, I still feel the same way. This is the first car I've ever owned that I didn't grow bored of in 6 months. I'm keeping her.

The new 991 GT3 must be better than our 997.2, it is Porsche GT3!!!
The question is who is going to buy the new one and I think we are going to see much more 991 GT3s than our in the street because it is much more durable to be used every day even girls can drive it now.
Result is our 997.2 will be unique in the street and even in the market and I think it will keep its price much higher than what we think.

I'm keeping mine until one of us is no longer ticking. I may add a 3.8 as a garage queen/street car. In all honesty, I can't see myself purchasing the newer, faster but less involved GT3, that is what the GTR is for. I guess Porsche, like all manufacturers has to keep up with the Jones.

There's always a newer, faster, easier car being released. Doesn't automatically make it more involving or fun. All the new techno-gadgetry doesn't necessarily enhance the unique Porsche experience. In some cases (eg. CL's) the "enhancements" actually detract from the useability and reliability of the brand. (So now we have RW steering...)
Personally I don't find satisfaction in the pursuit of owning the latest and fastest at the expense of a fulfilling driving experience. (Of course others are certainly welcome to chase the latest flavor of the month.) Just my .02 worth.
Loved my old air-cooled car and all the 997 GT3 variants to date (Gen 2 w/ CL to 5 bolt conversion would be on my list).
Can't wait for my GT3.1 to be delivered to fill the void...

Interesting comment and perspective. Thanks for posting. The GTR is a beast. I have no doubt that the 991 GT3 will be faster than the 997 variants. As engaging, well that is yet to be determined. I was trying to teach my 16 year old grandson how to shift manually in my 12 GTS. He never quite got it. Now that I have the RS he is apprehensive about driving it. He comments on how cool it is as I row the gears and double clutch downshifts. I think about what he is/will be missing to get this right. I learned manuals with 3 on the tree, and graduated to 4 on the floor. It was a major accomplishment, a right of passage so to speak. Now all he has to do is step on the go pedal and the car will take care of the rest. Sorry, something is missing.

Sure i d love to drive a 991 GT3 for the experience.It looks like the future GT3.
But for me the 997.2 GT3 was love at first sight. Still feel the heartbeat when i look at it. Every time i drive it, i say thats it. Thank you Porsche for making this joy machine .
