Like I said in the previous post. I'm not racing for now but I'm keeping the trailer. And when I bought the enclosed, I wanted to make sure it was big enough to move into..

To the OP,
You can have all the fun you can handle, all day long, in a sports car without needing to spend $100-$150K. I had just as much enjoyment autocrossing my $5K Miata....
I should have never sold that car after all the time-consuming tweaking... all of which costs less than one aftermarket Porsche exhaust. Value and cost are two different things.

That being said I think a GT3 is a much better value than a "standard" Porsche on the wrong side of supply>demmand>depreciation. Not that a GT3 isn't a mass produced car but you get the point..

Cabo is sweet but definitely boats are $$$. Wahoo is good stuff though YUMM.

When you can afford to build the garage to house the fleet.

I've had 3 911's. I've been in and out of them since the mid 90's. I've sold them, try something else and then inevitably come back it seems.

And I do believe a GT3 is insulated to a certain degree but they will go down, maybe not as quickly. It'll be interesting to see how many come up for sale (or don't) once the 991 version is on the market.

I agree there aren't enough "pure enthusiasts" to sustain the 997 GT3 from the inevitable slide. They sold a ton. Seems like I'd rarely see a 996 GT3 at a Porsche event. Now I'll see 997 GT3 RS parked outside of my local Starbucks.
Which in turn means they'll be a crapload of 991 GT3 for sale in the not too distant future as people who need an auto tranny and buy on impulse get bored with the suspension, scraping, noise, etc. Porsche is going to sell a lot of $150K cars. For the rigtht second-hand price I can live with paddles. certainly for cone-dodging.

I'll show you some fish pictures next time I see you. The $$$ per pound will definently raise your hair and give you a heart attract though.

Now I just bring $100's and fish with other people, sorta like arrive and drive.

Like a wise man told me many years ago - if it flys, floats, or fornicates, you are better off renting and not buying!
