Hail from Hell
Returned home last night from 3 days at NOLA instructing for NASA. Pouring rain and dark when I got home, so I left the car on the trailer intending to put it in the garage when the rain stopped. Before it stopped, it turned to baseball sized hail and pounded h#ll out of the car and tow truck. Just got the car back Friday from Nolasport doing the water pipes and sending the diff to Guard for repair. Dent repair guy said roof and hood dents would require more than he could do without panel repair and repaint.. Tow truck in same condition. Awaiting adjuster visit but while waiting looking for CF roof panel and CF hood. Get rid of unnecessary sunroof finally. Anyone know of good roof and hood suppliers?

Thanks guys. Now it will become more track devoted. The wife quit riding in it when the GT2 seats went in, so less weight, more fun. Car mainly used on track anyway, so more mods. Engine remains stock except for Eddie's side muffler delete and soon MCS shocks/spring package from Eddie.

Sorry about your bad luck, if you are converting toa sunroof delete, just do a factory roof. The weight savings isn't huge going to a carbon fiber, plus the sellers say you should have a full cage a Carbor Fiber roof.

I have a safety devices half cage, but I think you are right about the roof. A factory panel is probably the way to go. Sunroof delete!! Save some coin too, to pay for new parts. Carbon for the hood though. I just added the RS deck lid and cf wing which was wrapped with 3M. It suffered no damage. Now I have to get someone to check the roof of the house and man cave next.

Ugh, very sorry to hear. Hit me up if you are looking for a CF hood. I have a source for them.

Look at the bright side...now you have an excuse to mod your car on the insurance company's dime.
Good luck with the sunroof delete conversion! I would also use a factory roof panel.

David, very sorry to hear about your weather misfortunes. I knew bad weather was coming and was thankful to have a short drive home. The post above is spot on - look at it as an upgrade opportunity, at least partially on someone else's dime

Awaiting insurance adjuster to call on both the GT3 and the F250. Apparently there was a lot of hail damage in the surrounding area. The claims person I spoke to said they were bringing in more adjusters. I guess the March PCA DE will have a dented GT3 riding around. Already getting parts info for the roof conversion lined up. NOLAsport will take care of the details. Seth, I may have Jon at NOLAsport give you a shout. I bought parts from Bimmerworld when I had the E36 M3.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and offers. Today, to top everything off, driving back from BR after working on the 944, on I10 a rock was launched from a truck ahead and nailed the windshield right in my vision area. Waiting for the third shoe to drop! Windshield survived the hail to succumb on the road.
