.1 RS here and have driven it as a daily and tourer also. Great for both.

NJ-GT is correct on the scraping issue and the RS clutch can be a little more finicky in traffic until you're fully accustomed to it. Can't speak to the non-RS variant but I imagine it would be a bit easier given the differences.

If you like driving a sports car that feels like a sports car then suggest you do it!

Different strokes. Some would DD it others not. Test drive will give you better idea. It's loud, low, and rough ride on rough roads. In other words its perfect. Will make you feel alive. I would only Not DD if you sit in big city bumper to bumper traffic a lot. But I would say that for any clutch.

I'm like Nortvan, I went from a 2006 C2S, to a 2010 gt3. I love the the 3, much more car than the C2. Clutch: is minor adjustment for you
It is rougher and louder, for sure.
GT3's (or I do) eats tires, probably due to the fact that I'm always on it.
No rear seat at all. It's nice to have a rear seats or (seat belts) for the kids
There is defiantly more of a WOW factor with the 3, gets a lot of attention, especially in the louder colors.

I wish I hadn't bought the C2, i could have saved some $ and time if I had waited for the right GT3 to come around.

I love the .2gt3, I'm NOT all that bothered about the CL wheels or the Re-call on the hubs. To me it's just something to complain about. I forget these issues every time I drive it.

Racing the FF, I have broken hubs before, and had my rear tire go whizzing by me in the braking zone.

I don't like the issue with the coolant pipes!

Good Luck, Buy the 3! you won't go wrong

...and you still get a sunroof with the non rs!

I miss my RS. I agree it's a bit noisy but incredible fun.

In a word: bouncy.

First-gen PASM dampers are awful, and nowhere near as good as the rest of the car. Sorry, just my opinion. Certainly fixable.

Clutch and shifter both higher effort than they need to be, to AP's preference. Funny to hear other 911 engineers talk about this.

I would daily drive one without qualm, and have. Only thing that grates is the damping. You can eliminate/minimize the front spoiler damage with creative driveway/intersection angling, or install a lift kit to make it almost as practical as your Carrera. Sure, they're louder, but it's such a good noise... And, one of the best-looking Porsches in a decade.

Have fun!

I love mine but get sooooo annoyed with the scrapes of the front lip.

Also, mine's a clubsport with a 90L tank. So I have no boot space or rear "seat" space. Getting in and out of the car in tight spots is not exactly dignifying...

I'd drive a CS daily instead. Makes much more sense.

It's a great daily driver if you meet the following requirements:

You never talk on your phone in the car
The steepest driveway you'll ever encounter is about 1"
You have the left calf strength of lance armstrong
You max cargo is a box of kleenex
Your co-workers and customers don't mind seing you in a 100k car
You're comfortable leaving the car in a walmart parking lot or in a crowded night spot
You don't mind getting tickets on a monthly basis
You never eat or drink in the car
You only have one friend
Your kidneys are secure in their location inside your body
You don't mind awful gas mileage

If all that works, then it's a perfect DD

I agree with all your slight exaggerations of reality, except gas mileage. Given most people's DD seems to be an SUV, I think the 17-18 city and 24-25 highway mpg that I'm getting is probably better than most.
Too me, the cost of tires, with their short life, followed by the cost of the cup splitters (of which I use 2-3 a year) is much more significant than gas mileage.

Even that didn't bother me until my commute went from 17 to 100 miles each way... bought an A3 TDI for that. Cheap consumables with good mileage.

I use a volvo C30 for daily driving. 10x better car for work duty. Gets much better city mileage than my GT car. But yes, the gas mileage is the least significant reason on why a GT3 makes an awful commuter car.

GT3 is a wonderful machine but personally I find it frustrating to drive it in a confined environment. Maybe if I had a 30 mile country curvy road to commute on, but sitting in traffic all day in a GT3 seems pointless.

this is it right here.
too much traffic, crap roads congested all the time except between midnight and 6am. if you commute at these times, or live in the sticks, then it's ok.

It is fine as a DD but the Carrera is a better DD.
It has A/C and traction control. But Rad is correct.

I had a 997.1 turbo and a GT3RS at the same time. Rarely drove the GT3. I can leg press 750 pounds it's still annoying. It's fun when you are in mood but a your coupe is a better DD. If you could drive everywhere at 135mph it would be great. Besides they bring death right now. Wait till the 991 GT3 comes out and there will be plenty for sale and cheaper.
