Is the MAF being retained in that setup?

Are there any drawbacks to running this type of setup vs the .2 airbox on a car that is a street/track car?

No drawbacks what so ever, unless you consider "too much" air a drawback.

The idea was to achieve maximum air flow. And so we built a 100% dry carbon decklid and intake. The outside part is just like 2011 Cup while the inside part is of a 2009 Cup. The intake is a carbon fiber replica of a 2009 Cup intake with a place for the MAF. The whole decklid was custom made in order to be able to fit the street car's fan.

FYI

Gavin's intake does require cutting the decklid to fit

Marcelo, you solution is rather trick too.

MJ can answer best but I should be getting the rear bumper for my RS this week.
I really like that "hybrid" look with .2 vents but still keeping my .1 tail lights.
Ultralight CF and no bumperttes. Better than .1 era Cup bumper.

Thanks dude!

The back of your car looks very similar to mine...Porsche Motorsports uprights and an RSR wing?
