There were 2 or 3 of them outside our Hotel at the F1 race in Austin, and IMO, they just don't look good. Something is missing, like a more aggressive stance and/or a rear wing.
The GT3 racing version of the car looks incredible. Reminds me of how the Mclaren F1 looked SO plain jane compared to the F1 LM.
I'm sure a sportier version will be offered at some point, so if I had the coin (which I definitely do not), I'd wait for that one.

If you drink TRAKCAR's kool-aid, the only car good for anything but cars and coffee is the one he owns at any given time.
I like the MP4. Fast as all hell on track, makes a great dual purpose car, and has the best ergonomics of any car I've ever been in. Love the interior.

Regarding the 4-12C..I still need to drive one..will do so that finally in the spring. I also agree that the GT3-race version looks much better...but OK..the normal one looks more "diplomatic"..but anyway...I would prefer this over a 458 10 times..just for the design already..much better than 458.
Regarding track capabilities, cannot judge it and havent heard any direct info..peter said something here about it..thats the only info I have. If it were true..it would be a desaster I would say...after all ist called "Mclaren"..it was built to win - and to be reliable on racetracks..this is (or should be) no desperate housewives car (!)

prefer the 458. Long history of F1 and GT race engine development. Also prefer NA engine over turbo.

We had a friend at Sebring with an McLaren and an RS. Good driver, he was much faster out of the corners with the McLaren. It was on street tires and hit a dip and paid $2500 for a new wheel. He could still drive it home otherwise tow truck; where would you find one?
We could keep up with him because it was his first and only session in the McLaren. So we discussed tire upgrade belts etc and maybe making the car also his track car, but no idea where to even start? What pads, no one else tracks one seriously, what tires, will it screw with the computers? The pads take a giant beating because they brake the car through the corner and it was a cold day but it generates massive heat. You can feel it following the car!!
I'm too busy to track until summer, I may buy one, the most comfy sports car looking exotic....
