Default Movit CER

Hi I am looking to replace my very worn PCCB discs with Movit CER replacement discs.

But I am a little confused as to what is possible after reading a lot of brake posts here

My car is a 997.2 C2S (sorry for posting in this forum but expertise in PCCB seemed to be here), which I believe are 350 both front and rear.

Now the discs are not much more expensive going from 350 to 380 or even 396.

It seems that with this partnumber "997 351 505 02" I can use my PCCB calipers on 380 discs?
What about 396?

Is anything else needed ?

Sincerely,

Michael

The 396/362 kit will require a one piece 19" wheel. You'd really have to work with directly with Movit on fitment to get offsets, bolt hole spacing, hats and caliper spacers. It is a great rotor, so it's worth the effort. 396 is arguably overkill on an RS 4.0 driven on track with Hoosiers at lap record pace, so I wouldn't wouldn't be paying to go beyond 380 or a directly bolt-on replacement for the Carrera PCCB if possible.

I have Manthey MM-1 one piece forged 19" rims.

The 396 discs they could do at a special Price.

But if I go with 380, is that possible with 350 calipers?

Btw. I am only doing the front, as my PCCB rears are still like new

Michael- contact your local MovIt distributor for your options. I agree with my friend above, on your car 396 would be overkill even if possible. The rotors are bulletproof and last forever but you need their assistance for a kit to fit them.

So stay with 350?

Much easier :-)

I just thought the bigger brakes would handle the torture I give my brakes when I lap the Nürburgring, as it is a very high speed track. I only lap it at 7:52:30 though.

The 'ring is about the easiest track to drive on brakes, as it's so flowing. I've done a lot of laps there and Scuderia Hanseat etc a few times. Never has any car of mine faded there (including GT2, M3 CSL, R35 GTR etc), whereas they have on other tracks.

that is true, but due to the high speed, when you brake, you really brake :-)

And reading this forum, it semed the pads behaved better on the bigger discs with even wear

You have a C2S and are investing in MovIt? Aren't those brakes like $30k? Save the $ on the brakes and get a GT3!

Replacement discs are €4.700 for the front axel, almost half price of oem pccb.

btw. GT3 doesn't have rear seat or PDK, being in Europe I have grown up with stick shift, been there done that

Hmm. That's a lot less than I thought.

Rear seat and PDK seem like good reasons. Though the 991 GT3 may solve the PDK problem.
