PCA GGR is really good. as long as you dont do something stupid. like flying off track..... their record is very good. john tavernatti and carl switzer run a good show. but it's always fun to get carl riled up!!!

BMW is more cautious but for nor cal the group is great too. they do put you at low group day 1. but if you are decent, you get to top soon. by noon, i was at the top group with bmw. and reember, i can't even remember where to turn, witness my straight off at reno.... funniest video ever.

Hey montoya. I total understand where you are coming from. BMW club is a total fail and they make a stink when new driver join them and make everyone start with beginner group regardless of experience. Yes, you are right, some of the BMW instructor actually grab your wheel on track and what a horrible way to teach that's why I never went back after one try. GGR PCA is totally cool. They will work with you even if you are new. Hope you can join our group of fast cars in the advance group and you will have a blast
I hate to throw a club under the bus, they think they are doing the right thing. I spent a considerable time going over all of what you mentioned with them in great detail, lets just say that they don't bend any rules. Weird that they allowed a point by anywhere on the track tho considering everything else. But would I go back to another BMW event- no. Am I gun shy now about new clubs and mismatched expectations- yes.

Back on point really looking forward to meeting fellow Rennlisters and getting back on track after the winter break!

Yes, they are cautious, and I was signed off by midday the first day, with point bys anywhere you were never held up and it really didn't matter the run group.
Second day we reset the clock and I needed another sign off- that was the frustrating part, but they have their reasons and while conservative they make sense. Just unexpected.

OK boys, it's 3 weeks away and let's get your tires, brakes, trailer etc ready for this mini mancation. I fired up my Cup today after a long winter break and does it sound like it needs to stretch it's legs. My Z06 is all ready and had a chance to shake off it's winter coat last week at Thunderhill

If all works out I should have both Z06 and Cup there for some fun

my blue mamba is ready to tango

Well then... there you go! You _don't_ need to save any tires for the GGR weekend. Unless, of course, you plan to spin the Cup car 4 times per lap like the very first time you ran with GGR. You know, just to remind Carl of who you actually are. LOL

PS: Bring a set of Michilen blues for Violet.
