Default 2010 vs 2011 GT3, why the delta?

Why are the 2011 GT3s listing for so much more than the 2010s?

I can find plenty of 2010 GT3s in the high 90s to low 100s, but all of the 2011s seem to be listed at 115 plus. A nearby Porsche dealer has a 2011 that is nicely equipped but he refuses to budge off $115K. I offered $107K which I think is nosebleed territory for a non-RS but he pointed out that every listing on the Porsche dealer site is $115K or higher. Sounds moronic to me.

Anyone know why there is suchj a difference in asking prices between a 2010 and 2011 non-RS GT3?

Don't feel bad.... A P-dealer is asking $2000 below MSRP for a used 2012 Cayman R. I offered $3K below their asking price and they refused to negotiate. Tough market out there.

For some reason we logically think that dealers should be more flexible at this time of the year when cars sales are generally slow.. But nooooo...

It appears that porsches are selling well 12 months of the year, and the dealers now it...

Wow, something must have changed since last year. I searched for (and bought) a 2011 GT3 last year at this time and most of the 2011's were priced at less than $110k , some closer to $100k; so don't know why the market has apparently changed so dramatically. As to difference between 2010 and 2011, I was advised to get 2011 as there were certain upgrades to the suspension in 2011 that made it a better driver.

Good luck with your search.

No differences between 10 and 11, certainly not in the suspension. Dealer was BSing you big time on that one. Prices on all GT1 engined based cars has gone up since their will be no more manual in the GT3 and it'll also have a new DFI block.

^ agreed, no difference between 2010 and 2011 model spec other than a darker center portion of the steering wheel. I would also believe the GT3 prices are moving slightly north due to the sans manual 991 gt3 speculation, last of the Mezger and large price delta. Used RSs are rare and bringing top dollar; seems logical domino effect.

Default GT3

I get the general upward bias in GT3 prices as I have been in the market for an RS for several months and can't find anything. What is surprising to me is that the 2010s are pretty stable right now but dealer pricing on 2011s seems completely out of touch.

Like folks say, not much difference between 2010 and 2011 models, except for the color of the steering wheel center.

And as for the new car warranty period, it depends on the new vehicle purchase date... I have seen too-heavily-optioned 2010 cars were sitting in the showroom not sold until early 2011, and I have seen 2011 cars were sold as soon as they arrived to the dealer in late 2010. So make sure to check each car to find out how much warranty period it has left.

I wonder if it's related to the center lock recall on the 2010's? I hate it when a wheel falls off. . .
