couple other things, blue tooth and aux in on the stereo. Floor mats where also included. These we all paid options for 2010's. My car is a late build and has not been included in any of the center lock recalls.

you paid for them with your 2011 as well. 11s had BT and other items standard -if your checked the BT box, however, the base MSRP went up accordingly making any free options moot. as for your 2011 not being involved in any CL recalls is rather strange considering my friend's 2011 RS had the CL recall. I have also heard all of the gt3s (10/11) require rear hub swap.

Check out the recall, there's a VIN range. Late builds are not included. Your friend might have had his car before mine was even built.

Atleast I got something for the MSRP increase.

Is this an omen that the 997.2 GT3's will be the last of the true great raw drivers porsches and the end of a great era? 2011 is last model year of this era...... Could this possibly mean something to potential collectors? Just creatively "free thinking"

I thing Porsche doing the right thing on keeping the prices high so ppl like us (owners of current GT3.2) can stay happy with our cars. i had a long chating with one of the high management of my local dealer and i said why the porsche prices are so high and the maintenance is much higher than BMW or MB so he asnwered by asking do you need to see porsche every where in the street or you want to be the only one in the street. i thing it is a valid point but keep in mind the local porsche is selling almost 6 cars per day from all kind and in a small country like Kuwait i can see porsche is everywhere and the used 2012 911 cayenne panamera boxter are all around.

I think there is a bit of that - buyer apprehension that the next car will be crap. The 991 needs to be launched; then we will know really whats happening. At the moment the market has no new supply and as such prices are responding accordingly.

Sort of to your point (as well as another post on GT3s being a bargain), there were approx 700 GT3s built in 2010 - 2011 in USA. Corvette stated that they are at a low point in terms of sales - with 13,000 built and sold yearly. So yes, the GT3 is exclusive, but when you consider that a maxed out C4S would cost the same as a GT3 - what a great deal! I guess those of us on this board appreciate the motor sport heritage that the GT3 brings.
