My first time ever at Daytona great event, Awesome track,My lap time by Sunday averaged 2:11.everyone should scratch off the Bucket list, However Tires condition and pressure are critical.

I did the first DE ever at Daytona in 2007 with PCA Crown Region/Oktoberfast Club Race...many blowouts that day on right rear. Erik was there. It was fun, went again a month later with Audi Club and got it out of my system. No real desire to go back...after a while the roval just got boring. Glad I've been there tho...the old bumpy as hell banking was memorable.

Yup, they all seem to blow right there, just too much weight on the tires.
I wont go near Daytone unless I have a Daytona allignment and brand new tires, preferably sturdy street tires like SuperSports.

The old bumpy track scared the bejeesuz out of me. I have to look up the video when I was there in my '07 GT3, I think I ran 2:05 and came off the track with 3 big time corded tires.

I went last year and think I ran about a +/- 2:00 when my pressure plate went. maybe a blessing as I dound a 2" bubble on my right rear tire inside wall....

I skipped this year, maybe next year but not sure if i really need to go 180Mph in a street car next to a hard wall.

Amen to that, I know my car will do 2 min even with ease, but my silly brain tells me not to, kids, CL wheels, tires blow outs, coolant connections come loose, walls a few inches nearby, etc, etc,etc That is what goes thru my mind every lap as I cross the finish line
