Great lap Dez. That is a fast lap time no matter how you shake it. Great analysis of your data too. No matter how fast we go we always are looking for more time.

Thanks! Once you guys help me get faster in 12 and 6, it will run 1:24's. I need more entry speed to S/F.

I see :24's in the data you sent me simply tightening up tasks that you do several times each lap...

More entry speed to S/F starts between 10A and 10B...

Do tell.......... Are you referring to downshifts?

I agree on turn 10, I think my entry into 10a is ok, but my exit on 10b could use some tightening up. Mostly just need to trust the grip of the car and maybe open the wheel sooner. I've always felt a little tighter in there trying to rush up the hill. My car felt particularly jumpy at the turn 11 bridge (like catching air) this weekend compared to others, but my speed at the bridge is the same, weird.

Nope!

As an aside, by prioritizing braking ahead of effecting the blipping technique for downshifts, I think you would improve the efficacy (hence shorten the zone) of your braking.

Believe it or not, I see enough inconsistency in your upshift speed (worst=.45 seconds, best=.25 seconds) that there is enough there to get you in the :24's IF you concentrated on duplicating your demonstrated best EACH time up... Now, remember, this is against the faster lap that you sent me, not the current video.

Absolutely, although I want you to think about integrating earlier and more progressive application of throttle there, too. Hold that inside curbing a little longer and let the slightly more anticipatory throttle app widen your exit arc.

Of course, it's easy to talk about it.

Man, that's exactly what I was thinking, widening that arc to allow me to use the throttle sooner. I tend to get consumed with 12 after passing 10a and getting impatient.

And like you mention, definitely easier said than done.

Yep and the shifting too, I've noticed big gaps in speed. I tend to not to focus on it enough unless I'm on the back straight. Working on giving it more attention. I really need some open test days where I can actually get 10 clean laps in a row. Car is too fast to get clean laps at speed in a DE and slows progress when you find flaws and have to concentrate on fixing them all at once, or one at a time. I need this stuff to come naturally.

Good Stuff!!! PM on the way.

Dez, last weekend in February, there will likely be a Friday open track day prior to the PBOC weekend. I will be there. Might be a great opportunity to address these nuances...

Definitely interested in doing that, and some coaching. Is that Friday with PBOC?

If it happens, it will be under the umbrella of PBOC. We did it last year, where Harry Blazer set it up but PBOC ran it, and it worked out really well, and sold out (very limited number of spots, to avoid on track crowding).

I will let you know ASAP...

EDIT: the date (2/22) is on the PBOC calendar, listed as a Private Test Day (just like this year) so they do have the track reserved for Friday

VR, I remember that but I think it was pretty pricey for the one day

I just rememberred that too. It was like $1200 or $1500. Would rather run the weekend.

Harry is just baller like that. Saw him at vir with his coach, mechanic and two cup cars. Asked him what the second one was for and he said "practice".

I think it was pricey, but was limited to like 10 or 15 cars. So you decide...

Hahaha! NOW, we're talking! Easy to get preoccupied with T12 waiting for T1 to come up.. and end up rushing 10B too much. Self-sabotage...

You are ON THE MONEY on your shifting self-assessment. Every shift I measured of your best run on the back straight was like clockwork, .25 seconds of "non-thrust."

However, the shift after T12 on the front straight? .45 seconds on your HOT LAP! That's the potential for a .2 free gain, right there...

I'll reply to your PM shortly. Thanks, Peter
